“Can we consume them? Or does it have to be refined into medicinal pills?” Ye Chen questioned. A fragrant scent wafted out the gold chest as soon it was opened.

“If we ate them as is, the efficacy of the medicine would only be a tenth of what it is. However, if we refine them to a medicinal pill, its efficacy would increase tenfold.” Ye Zhantian mused. “Back then, Yun Yiyang’s powers greatly increased because he had the Blood Fungus. Then again, the physic that he had can’t possibly compare to this.” Ye Zhantian was blown away at the sight of the physics in the chest. Herbs that were hundreds of years old could only be foraged and found deep in the woods of the mountains. This was the first time he had ever come across a-thousand-year-old physic.

“If we keep the physics here, people would surely steal them. They might even wreak havoc in the clan. We should eat it now and increase our power, even if it means it won’t be as effective!” Ye Chen spoke with conviction.

Ye Zhantian and Ye Changxuan thought the same too but they wanted Ye Chen to be the one to decide. They were all extremely excited. Just the physics found in the chest alone could easily produce ten or more Ninth Stage combatants. So long as the effects of the physics continued to persist for a few years, the clan would have one or two Tenth Stage combatants in one to two years.

After counting the physics thoroughly, Ye Chen found that there were thirty-five types of physics, each having more than one. Save for the Celestial Orbs and Spirit Pills, the rest were physics.

“Grandpa Changxuan, you take one Flaming Serpent Berry.” Ye Chen took a Flaming Serpent Berry out of the box. For now, splitting the loot mattered more than testing the efficacy.

The physics concerned the fate of the clan and so, Ye Changxuan did not think twice about the offer. He took the berry from Ye Chen’s hands, walked to the center of the grand hall and took a few bites. Then, he sat in a meditative posture and channeled his Celestial Chi to absorb the effects of the medicine.

The rest looked on as Ye Changxuan sat in the grand hall, all eager to see what effects a thousand year physics bore.

Time passed and Ye Changxuan’s skin was a shade of red, just like a forged iron. His sweat was evaporating into the air.

Ye Chen used his Astral Body to observe Ye Changxuan. The Astral Body could see through the human body and so, he could see the body absorbing the effects of the Flaming Serpent Berry through the meridian channels into the hundred vessels and the four limbs. After one Sunday, it returned to Ye Changxuan’s energy center. For every Sunday that had passed, Ye Changxuan’s cultivation improved massively. As Ye Changxuan’s Celestial Chi continued to work, the effect of the medicine gradually altered his meridian channels too though the effects were beginning to wear off. Many effects had dispersed from Ye Changxuan’s body before he had sufficient time to absorb them. Sadly, wastage was an unavoidable process.

After six Sundays, the Flaming Serpent Berry’s efficacy finally showed. The concentration of Celestial Chi in Ye Changxuan’s body was astonishing. From low Ninth Stage, he had now arrived at top Ninth Stage. His Celestial Chi was much more concentrated than Mentor Qin’s. Not only did the berry altered his meridian channels but it also made cultivating easier for him. Soon, he would be Tenth Stage.

Ye Changxuan opened his eyes. There was a bright flash in his eyes.

“Well, Grandpa?”

“How was it, Sixth Uncle?”

The people surrounded him.

Ye Changxuan laughed so loud that his voice echoed through the room. “Ahaha, it’s a-thousand-year physic indeed. It cleansed my meridian channels. This must be the legendary Pure Yang State that people speak of. My Celestial Chi cultivation has already reached top Ninth Stage and I’m having an easier time breaking through the Tenth Stage barrier. I doubt I’ll even need one to two years to get to Tenth Stage!”

“Congratulations, Grandpa!”

“Congratulations, Sixth Uncle!” The clan members were ecstatic. All of them went up to congratulate him.

With a Tenth Stage combatant in the clan, they no longer needed to fear the Second-Rank Prince of Donglin! Soon, they would be invincible in all Donglin County, even The Thirteen Counties of Lingnan!
