Chapter 24.2 - Jealousy is a poison (1/2)
After the busy period, the dense Lou Yao Yao finally realized that she seemed to have deserted Qin Zhi, and felt a bit guilty. She specially took a few days off and the two of them went to the holiday village outside the city to enjoy a world for themselves.
The deserted Qin Zhi was naturally very happy. Unfortunately, Ruan Si Nan learnt of this news, and forcefully changed their two-people world to a many-people world, angering Qin Zhi.
On this day, as usual after eating dinner, the few of them walked along the river to digest their food.
Ruan Si Nan and the others were not so extreme, and only followed behind from a distance, leaving space for the young couple.
In recent years, the city had developed rapidly. Although they have realized that the environment was important and had begun to make the environment greener, but after all, it has lost a natural atmosphere. Breathing in the countryside’s smell of mud and grass, and listening to the sounds of the insects in the grass, Lou Yao Yao felt that her state of mind was very peaceful. She said to Qin Zhi: “Staying here feels so comfortable, I almost don’t feel like going back”.
Qin Zhi smiled and said: “Didn’t you just despise the food for being bad to eat?”
Lou Yao Yao pounded him: “Can’t you just agree with me!”
“Okay, then let’s stay here for a few more days.” Qin Zhi really complied.
Lou Yao Yao pouted: “No we can’t, I only took three days off. Plus the weekend, it’s only five days”.
Qin Zhi suggested: “Then when you have time next time, I will accompany you to come here again”.
“Okay.” Lou Yan smiled and nodded.
As Lou Yao Yao walked, she swung her hand that was held by Qin Zhi, thoroughly enjoying herself.
After walking another stretch, she saw a faint light on the river surface. Lou Yao Yao went closer to see, and saw a few delicate paper lanterns floating on the river. The wick should be a light bulb, and the colours were all different. Floating on the river, it looked very beautiful.
Lou Yao Yao pulled Qin Zhi along and quickly walked up towards the upstream of the river. She was very curious and wondered who would set off so many lighted lanterns onto the river.
The more they went up, the more paper lanterns they could see.
Going up further, she saw the opposite side of the river filled with lit candles. After seeing the words formed by the candles, Lou Yao Yao was in a daze, because the words formed by the candles consisted of two letters, one symbol and one Chinese character. The first letter was I, the third was U, in the middle was a heart shape and inside it was a “Yao” word. Lou Yao Yao was stunned and she covered her mouth as she looked at Qin Zhi: “Did you make this?”
The look she had, had a little bit of surprise, and a little expectation. Although he did not want her to be disappointed, ultimately, Qin Zhi said regretfully: “It’s not me”.
Lou Yao Yao wrinkled her small nose and looked behind her. She found that they had already lost sight of Ruan Si Nan and their group of people, so she smiled: “It must be Nan Gua {pumpkin} and Dong Dong playing with us”. Only those two liked to fool around.”
Qin Zhi responded with a sound ambiguously, not knowing if he was agreeing or disagreeing with her.
The two continued to walk along the river, there were paper lanterns on the river, and there were candles on the opposite side. They were beautiful and dazzling. Lou Yao Yao kind of wished that it was Qin Zhi who did it already, but since Qin Zhi denied it, it must not be him. So, Lou Yao Yao continuously rebuked him and said that he was not romantic at all. Therefore, Qin Zhi conveniently pulled out a wild flower from the ground and gave it to her. Lou Yao Yao chased him for a round of beating, but did not throw away the wild flower.
When they walked to the end and saw Chen Hao standing on the bridge, Lou Yao Yao should have been surprised, but her heart was very calm.
Qin Zhi looked at her from the side. Lou Yao Yao smiled at him, then broke away from his hand and walked to the bridge.
Both sides of the wooden fence of the wooden bridge was filled with pink candles and there were various colourful paper lanterns floating on the river. The words of confession on the river bank were formed by candles. Walking on the wooden platform laid with a thick layer of roses, it was like the most romantic confession in her dreams, beautiful and unreal.
When she walked to the front of Chen Hao, he held a bunch of colored calla lilies, meaning “eternal”, and knelt on a single knee in front of her. At the same time, countless fireworks burst in the sky.
In the midst of the splendidness, he said as if swearing an oath: “Yao Yao, please give me a chance to protect you forever”.
