”We managed to finish just in time.” Mimi giggled hoarsely.

Lifting his head from her shoulder, Tobias looked out the car window to see she was right. They were already home.

It was a new record.

In his mind, Tobias quickly took note to ask the driver to take the longer route next time.

Opening the front door, Mimi's glistening eyes landed on the small plump figure seated on the ground, surrounded by a pile of toys. The little girl appeared to be three years old, with features like finely carved jade. Her cheeks were round and soft as a dumpling, her black hair tied in two pigtails. When little Mina sensed an intense pair of eyes on her, she turned her face only to be pulled into a familiar pair of arms.

”Mommy's home!” Mimi rubbed her face against her daughter's cheeks.

With a small gasp, Mina pulled her head out of her mother's arms, cheeks jiggling. She looked up, blinking her wet, violet eyes, and patting Mimi's hand.

”Home,” Her small voice was rather faint but still managed to tickle one's heartstrings.

Mimi's nose itched, and she took in a deep breath to calm her urge to smuggle her daughter in kisses. Instead, she gently kissed her plump cheeks.

”Did you have a fun day?”

Mina quietly nodded her head, no further words. Laughing, Mimi turned to see Tobias dismissing the babysitter before walking over to them. He kissed Mina's head.

”Are you ready for dinner?”

At the same time, both mother and daughter turned to him with bright eyes. They nodded their heads. Holding back a laugh, Tobias brushed back a curl of black hair from his daughter's face and walked into the kitchen. Meanwhile, Mimi and Mina shared a bath.

After bathing, dinner was already ready. The three sat by the table and enjoyed a delicious meal. The couple watched Mina lift her fork with uttermost seriousness and elevate it to her mouth. Once or twice, the food would fall off. When either offered to help, they were surprised to see Mina give them a silent glare.

She didn't want their help.

In silence, the two watched their daughter attempt to feed herself. Finally, when the piece of chicken landed in her mouth, Mimi couldn't help but squeal and kiss her daughter's messy cheeks. Tobias just smiled and patted her head. Although little Mina was silent and bore an unbothered expression, they could both see from her glittering eyes and flushed round cheeks, their praises brought her joy.

As night settled, Mimi and Tobias tucked little Mina into bed.

”Goodnight, my sweet little steamed dumpling,” Mimi pecked her daughter's face with kisses.

Mina grumbled but silently accepted her mother's affectionate smooches. When her face was a raw, rosy red, Mimi finally let her daughter rest. Standing by the doorway, Tobias walked over and stroked Mina's hair softly.

”Goodnight.” He kissed her forehead.

Mina blinked her glittering, violet eyes and smiled.

”Night.” She said in a muffled voice before burying herself into the covers, eyes closed.

Just before Mimi could kiss her daughter again, Tobias held her hand and dragged her out of the room. Turning the lights out of Mina's room, he quietly closed the door. In the hall, Mimi looked at Tobias with a small pout. He sighed and kissed her nose.

”You can give her love all day tomorrow morning.”

Pursing her lips, Mimi could only let it go. Besides, their daughter needed her beauty sleep!

In their bedroom, the two settled into bed. With the laptop on her lap, Mimi's eyes lit up with the screen's contents. Beside her, Tobias worriedly glanced from his book to her.

”Are you still working?” He asked.

Without withdrawing her gaze from the screen, Mimi responded. ”Since someone doesn't give me enough time to finish at the office, I have no choice but to finish at home.”

Knowing she was talking about him, Tobias pursed his lips.

”I know. I'm just worried about you and your health.”

”Are you apologizing?” Mimi's eyebrow raised.

”I'm sorry.” Tobias sighed and closed his book. For a moment, she stole the man a glance. Though he always looked so well put together, Mimi could tell he was tired.

From worrying about her to taking care of his own company and managing to be there for Mina seemed to be taking a toll on him.

With a sigh, she looked back into her computer. ”You need to sleep. I will work in the living room.”

”It will be hard to sleep when you're not next to me.” Tobias's tone darkened. In other words, he refused to sleep alone.

Staring at him with an emotionless gaze, Mimi sighed again and closed her laptop. Setting it to the side, she rolled over to embrace her husband's body.

”I will go to sleep, but only if I can extend my hours at work.” She pulled back slightly, just enough to look into his dark eyes. ”Otherwise, I will have no choice but to work late at home. And you will have to sleep alone.”

Tobias frowned and couldn't help but hug her, savoring the feeling of her warmth against his.

”Well?” Mimi continued pressing. ”What is it, big guy?”

With a grunt, Tobias released a low sound of agreement. Mimi sighed softly against his chest and patted his back as she could sense his displeasure.

”There, there. I will spend time with you two in the morning.” She kissed his hair thick hair, appeasing his glum mood.

Tobias pulled away slightly and stared into her lovely eyes. After pressing a soft kiss on her eyes did his muscles ease.

”I'm sorry…for being so worried. Sometimes I can't help but feel anxious. This feeling. This happiness. It all feels too much. I feel like one day...it will all go away.” His voice was hoarse.

Mimi blinked, surprised by his words. After a while, she suddenly giggled and stretched the handsome man's serious, firm cheeks.

”Don't think about such things. Mina and I are not going anywhere. This happiness you feel, you deserve it. Every single bit of it.” She kissed his mouth repeatedly.

Tobias stared at her with a soft smile and rolled her on her back. Lowering his head, he kissed her soft, wet lips. His large hand ran up her thigh, kneading it up and down.

”Hey, hey!” Mimi patted his back and scowled at the seductive man. ”Today in the car was enough. Also, it's only been a few minutes since Mina went to bed. I don't want to scar our child.”

Met with the woman's glare, Tobias couldn't help but chuckle. He pecked her lips one last time before pulling her into his arms. Mimi huffed helplessly and snuggled closer into the man's scent. Just as she closed her eyes, she felt an odd sensation in her stomach. A queasy feeling.

Her brows furrowed. But in the end, she chose to disregard the strange feeling and closed her eyes to sleep.
