50 Chapter 48 - Anti-climactic (1/2)

The auction finally finished and Sora successfully placed the highest bid for every slave. Most pirates though he was filthy rich and maybe they could rob him afterwards. The Celestial Dragon, however, was already seething in rage. He came to buy slaves like the mermaid, but he was unable to get some. From his perspective a commoner was disrespecting him! He didn't make a move just yet, which was different from the Celestial Dragons in the anime.

Sora thought it was a little odd, due to them always being quick to act in the anime, but he figured everyone has different personalities, maybe this one is more calculating. Not that it mattered. After the auction ended, Sora went to the area where he would pay for and pick up his bids. When he arrived, a man led him to a room where all the slaves waited. He the brought out a set of keys and waited for Sora to hand him the money. He didn't see any on him, but it wasn't the first time somebody had hid money until it was time to pay up.

Sora: ”I'm not paying, give me the keys. Or don't, I can get rid of the collars myself; either way I'm taking them all with me.”

???: ”Sir, this is an establishment of Jokers...”

Sora: ”I don't care about him, I'll go beat him later. Tell him the one who did this was Voi D. Sora.”

Once he told his name, the man immediately gave him the keys. He just wanted money, he wasn't gonna risk his life against a pirate known for fighting a Marine Admiral on several occasions!

After getting the keys, Sora quickly unlocked their collars and led them outside. He would take them to Shakky's Rip-Off Bar, where he could have others deliver them to their families. As for those without families or homes, he would move them into his world and ask Zephyr to look after them. He had a lot of free time now.

Before he got there, he was approached by the same Celestial Dragon he saw in the auction.

???: ”You commoner! I will give you a chance now, surrender all the slaves behind you to me now, and be my slave. Otherwise, I'll kill you.”

Sora: ”Nah, you're already dead.”

Sora continued walking, signaling his slaves to follow him. The Celestial Dragon stood there silently without even a slight change in expression. Once Sora passed him, the Celestial Dragon turned to dust and was blown away by the wind, to the shock of anyone spectating and his slaves.

As they continued on their way, some of the slaves began to gossip. Many of the slave children were scared. Some slaves who heard his name began to tell others about what they had heard about him before they were enslaved. Luca, the mermaid he purchased, was the only one who saw the most recent news, so she knew the most. She decided she should yell his information out. Now that they weren't wearing slave collars, some of them might be able to escape, especially if she makes herself the focus.

Luca: ”He's THE Voi D. Sora!! A fearless and ruthless pirate who's already fought all 3 Marine Admirals and several World Government agents!! He's brothers with Fire King Ace and Dark King Sabo! They're calling him Lightning Calamity now and he's got a bounty of 1 billion berries!! Now he killed a Celestial Dragon!!”

Sora: ”Seriously? I do? Hold on, why do they keep changing my nickname? Damn. Am I considered a supernova with a billion berry bounty?”
