Chapter 92 - Go to the Rest Stop (2/2)

Li Ran chuckled and said embarrassedly, “I only know that he’s a national-level scientist. I’m not too sure about the other details.”

Wang Gang understood that some things were kept confidential, especially when it comes to government affairs. So, he did not question Li Ran any further.

It took more than forty minutes for them to reach the rest stop. The skies were pitch-black. Other than the car’s headlights, there was no other source of light.

Li Ran drove in carefully. She heard some noises and a zombie bumped into her car. Its face was pressed against the windshield. It shocked her and she reflexively stepped on the brakes. The zombie slid down and was out of sight.

“What should we do? We can barely see anything. Should we stop here? I feel that there aren’t many zombies around. Otherwise, they would have ganged up on us a long time ago.”

Yang Shao tried to focus his eyes to get a better look at their surroundings but it was useless.

He suggested helplessly, “I guess we should.”

Li Ran parked her car near a wall. She walked around the place and saw a small supermarket and washroom on the left side. The two buildings were adjacent to each other.

After that, she got back into the car and turned on the headlights.

“We should sleep in shifts. At least one person should be awake to keep watch.”

“Sure. I’ll go and check if there are any zombies and take care of them first. If not, we won’t be able to sleep peacefully.”

Wang Gang returned the pistol that Li Ran gave him earlier. Then, he got out of the car alone. He did not give her a chance to negotiate with him.

Li Ran knew that it would be pointless so she did not stop him. After all, he had survived until now, so he was obviously very capable. She took a deep breath and quietly looked outside, waiting for Wang Gang’s return.

Gu Zhao was quivering a little bit. He said shyly, “Dad, mom, I want to go to the bathroom.”

Zhao Ying felt that the place was quite barren.

“May we? I haven’t been to the bathroom all day as well.”
