Chapter 57 - The Weird Zombies (2/2)
“You can see it for yourself. It’s too dangerous to stay here. Li Ran, just come with me. The military will handle things here.”
She was very worried about Li Ran.
However, Li Ran could not leave just because she wanted to. People would lose their lives! She looked around and everyone was trembling in fear. Then, she shook her head and said, “I have to do something. Otherwise, we’ll lose this safety base and we can’t afford that. A breach is just a small matter. We can still stop it.”
Ammunition was limited.
Zombies were everywhere in Shanghai.
Fortunately, the safety base they were in was close to the suburbs. The population was relatively sparse. If it was in the center of the city, this place would have fallen a long time ago.
“Li Ran, why are you doing this alone? I’ll go with you! I can also bring a friend whom I’ve met earlier. He’s a little introverted but his eyes are very sharp. He can see a very long distance.”
The young man who had tried to strike a deal with Li Ran earlier reappeared after he noticed that the situation was under control.
He definitely would not give up on the opportunity to be on Li Ran’s side and tried to approach her again. His long-term safety was on the line.
The soldiers also denied Li Ran’s request. They would not let her re-enter the place.
Li Ran was trying to come up with a good excuse to gain entrance when suddenly, a group of zombies appeared from the other side.
They moved very quickly and were rushing towards the civilians.
The zombies were each carrying an opaque bag on their backs. Due to the color, the contents of the bag could not be seen.
However, there were some bags that were made out of transparent plastic.
Upon closer look, there was mineral water and bread in them!
The soldiers were the first ones to notice this bizarre circumstance. They killed a few zombies and picked up the bags. A few people noticed the bags as well and tried to get a closer look due to curiosity.
They instantly saw the contents.
“What? Is that food? There’s food!”
No one knew who shouted but did not dare to approach the soldiers recklessly.. They stood close by and tried to resist their hunger with all their might.
