Chapter 228 Repeated visitor (1/2)
Upstairs, from her room, Gigi stood by the window as well. She kept glaring outside as if something is upsetting her lately.
'How long do you plan of doing this, Lillian Grey?' – Gigi remarked.
Melanie looked outside the window.
The sight brought her devastation.
Melanie kept staring outside at for a while before eventually walking away from defeat.
”She is here, Eric.”
Eric was present in the living room as well, working on his reports while hearing his wife inform him.
”Again?” he called to confirm.
”Eric, I'm telling you that we should do something about her. We can't let her keep showing up at our place.”
Leaving his papers aside, Eric stood up to join Melanie, and the two watched the image of a girl waiting outside their house.
In recent days, this girl keeps showing up at Giselle's place every day. No matter how hard Eric and Melanie tried talking to her, she refuses to leave and keep reappearing.
”I wonder what their relationship is,” Melanie said while staring at the girl.
'It is pretty cold out there,' – Melanie noticed.
Upon her repeated appearance in the late evening, Melanie worried for this girl who keeps waiting outside, bearing the cold night.
Unable to watch it, she once invited her inside, but the girl refused. Instead, she kept asking the same question to which the parents, themselves, don't know that answer.
”From what you said, it doesn't seem like those two appear to be only friends,” Eric perceived.
Melanie agreed.
”That's what I've been thinking for a while. Gigi said that she is someone special to Giselle,” Melanie recalled.
”Special?” Eric did not hear about this piece of information.
”Yeah, the other day, she came to visit Giselle out of nowhere. Well, from what I saw, she cares for our daughter deeply.”
Eric remained calm, silently observing the recurrent visitor.
”Do you perhaps think that she-” Melanie fought to verbalize.
”It does look like she has some special connection to our daughter.” - Eric commented.
”Do you think that she is responsible for our daughter leaving!” Melanie surmised.
”I don't know,” Eric denied, thinking if this girl is responsible for Giselle leaving, then she wouldn't show up here every day.
Drifting back to the couch, he sat down.
”Honestly, we don't know anything concerning our daughter, Melanie. We thought we knew and understood Giselle, but in the end, it seems like we have no clue about what's going on.”
”That's true,” Melanie admits as she joined him in the living area as well.
”That girl, she never talks about her suffering and keeps it to herself. I always thought she would eventually open up to us, but it looks like we failed, Giselle can barely talk about what she is going through in her life. I feel completely useless as a parent, Melanie,” Eric wept, his emotions snapped out finally.
”Eric, don't say that. Giselle is a good kid. We both raised her well.”
”Yes, dad,” Gigi appeared.
