Chapter 109 Mike Confesses (1/2)
Mike who ran away chased Giselle and caught up with her. Giselle's eyes swollen from the crying. She had felt humiliated.
”Giselle, please listen to me.” Mike tried to stop her but, Giselle kept ignoring him and walked.
”Giselle, will you please listen to what I have to say?” Mike screamed.
”Go away, Mike,” Giselle grunted.
Mike ignored her and kept following. Another word from Mike made Giselle halt.
”I SAID, LEAVE ME ALONE.”
Giselle's voice echoed the evening road earning glances from the public. A few whispered from the sight. Two high school students, a male, and a female argued in the sidewalks.
Mike paused before realizing to see an end to this.
”Giselle stop, let me at least apologize to you,” Mike begged.
”For What?”
”The fact that your actions were indecent.”
”Yes, if so, you should apologize for that. However, don't expect me to forgive you.” Giselle replied sternly.
The sudden halt startled Mike, and he's now only inches away from Giselle.
The tension between them rose. Giselle continued speaking.
”You told me that you wanted to become my friend. And, what do you do, you invade my personal space and do stuff that isn't supposed to happen between friends. Fine, ignore that too.”
”We just met yesterday. Things happened, and today we met for the second time. I don't even know anything about you or have I become a good friend to you but, you went ahead doing all that stuff that I hated purely.”
”If what you did is normal between friends, then how come I didn't see you doing that to your other friends. Huh? Don't try to fool me, Mike! I might be shutting my mouth but, that doesn't give you the right to exploit me.”
”But-” Mike tried to respond only to get cut off by Giselle.
Giselle's words broke out like a stream.
”What?”
”Don't tell me they encouraged you to do all of this,” Giselle suspected.
Mike stayed quiet further confirming the involvement of others, specifically, Bridgette. He regretted following Giselle and began to feel remorse from the exploding situation that might tear the newly formed relationship in-between them.
”OH MY GOD”
”So, they were in this!”
”I'm a fool. Did Ivy asked you to behave like this?” Giselle asked.
Mike didn't respond at first but, Giselle's raging voice led him to answer her question.
”No” Mike replied.
”Then who?” Giselle demanded.
”It doesn't matter, Giselle. I just-”
”Who is it, Mike?” Giselle yelled.
Mike panted.
”I- It's Bridgette.”
Mike who had listened patiently, felt the need to open out his side of the story. Out of nowhere, he found the guts to speak out from his heart. It's what the people call 'The adrenaline rush,' Mike felt it spreading all over his body. He believed that it was THE moment to express.
”I love you, Giselle.”
Mike declared his feelings for Giselle out loud.
His confession might have anticipated, but Giselle could still feel the impact of it. She collapsed on the spot.
”I know that I said I wanted to be friends with you but where in reality I have feelings for you, Giselle. There, I said it. Alright.” Mike admitted.
It took a minute for Giselle to compose her figure. She can't let this drag anymore. Moreover, it isn't the confession that made Giselle enraged but the fact that there were people behind the scenes, moving cards and playing the game; that made Giselle mad.
