Chapter 36 End of the Party (1/2)

Giselle invited her parents inside and introduced them to the other guests. One of Giselle's middle school friend remembered them and went in to greet. Eric and Melanie maybe old but they still remembered Giselle's friends and even treasured them along with their daughter. Once everything was set and everybody was informed about Giselle's parents, they all sat down for some delicious food. Everybody enjoyed the dinner, especially the curry. Even Melanie praised Giselle's cooking skills. Giselle's curry earned her a new nickname of ”party cook”.

Later the night, the guests had planned to say their goodbyes. Giselle prepared a parting gift for everyone. The parting gift included cake, chocolates, and cookies. Basically, a small sweet treat package. One by one, the guests started leaving. Giselle would assist them and thank them for attending the party with the gift.

Meanwhile, Eric and Melanie played with Lia after their dinner. Giselle interrupted them and requested Lia to go to her bed since it's already late.

”Ah, no mom. It's not even school night. I'm going to stay up and play with grandpa.” Lia outbursted.

It became awkward with the adults to respond to the little girl. Eric wants to play with his granddaughter but Giselle wants her in bed by now and finally, Melanie doesn't know whom to support.

”Lia darling, it is already late and you have to listen to your mom. Grandma and Grandpa are going to visit you more from now onwards. So, go to bed soon. I don't want my beautiful granddaughter to get tired and lack of sleep. You can play with grandpa whenever you want. But, you have to listen to your mother.” Melanie tried to persuade the little girl.

However, one of their guests approached to say their goodbyes. So, Giselle walked away to send them off. when she returned Lia kept pouting. She obeyed her mother. But, before she went to bed, the little girl planned to say her goodbyes to a few of the guests.

She quickly ran to find Anna and Jake. After saying them goodbye, she was about to leave when Jake grabbed her by arms. Lia turned around to face him. Even Anna couldn't figure out Jake's action.

”Will you come visit us again, Lia? Anna and I would love to have you in our home. You can come with your mom and then we'll play together; all of us. What do you say?” Jake placed his request. Even Jake was shooked by his own action. Besides, he couldn't stop himself from placing such a request. Looking at him Lia felt happy. She accepted the request and leaned in towards Jake to tell him a secret and whispered something to him. ”Of course. You got it.” Jake did a pinky promise. Anna looked puzzled throughout the whole scenario. But, when Lia was finally ready to leave she pulled her close to give a hug.

”Whatever you want you can ask me, alright? Take care of your mother. She really loves you to the moon. And... you... are most welcome to our home. Promise me that you'll come to visit me?” Anna asked her. Lia agreed immediately and she gently kissed Anna on her cheeks.

”And what should you call me?” Anna pointed out.
