42 What Future Holds (1/2)
Chapter 42
Andy and Donna entered one of the luxurious hotels in the City.
Donna eyed her friend but Andy only smiled.
A hostess warmly greeted them as they reached the restaurant.
Donna could not help it but felt so small being reviewed from head to toe. The hostess' gazes to both of them were really implying a negative thought.
Well, Donna thought she really must have look so poor, maybe? Hahaha
And with Andy, well she was just dress up casually.
Looking around, it was truly a magnificent place. And a more defeated feeling enveloped Donna as she wandered her gaze.
Guests were on their best attire. Lady's were in their evening gowns and dresses while men were in their coats and tie.
'IT'S' FINE DINING'
Donna poke her friend. ”You should have told me, I could have at least dress up for this.”
Andy chuckled. ”I'm not dressed up either so we're even.”
After confirming their reservation, the hostess assisted them to their table.
As they were adjusting to be seated, a woman in her 40's approached them elegantly. She was catching up her breath but did her best not to make it so obvious.
”Greetings Miss Kaileen,” she bowed. Her tone full of respect.
”Hello Mrs. White.” Andy greeted back cheerfully.
”It's an honor to have you dine with us Miss.”
Andy sheepishly smiled at her remarks.
”Right, this is my friend Donna Rowan, and we'll be in your care tonight.”
Donna greeted with a smile. The woman responded with a more warming smile.
”The food you've ordered will be served shortly.”
”And please don't hesitate to call my attention if there are anything you need Miss.”
”Until then.” She bowed then left.
Donna eyed her friend then gave her a lopsided grin.
”It is of my utmost honor to be treated to this extravagant dinner, Miss Kaileen.”
Donna was laughing so hard in the back of her mind as she imitated the tone of the woman earlier.
Andy laughed. ”Stop it, dummy.”
Donna laughed too then their order came.
”How was the food?” Andy asked as they were halfway through.
”It's great. I don't have the words to describe it.”
Then the restaurant Manager; Mrs. White, a waiter and a man in his fifty's wearing what should be pertaining to a chef, excused themselves as they approached Andy's table.
”Greetings Miss Kaileen.” The chef bowed respectfully.
”Chef Jiao.” Andy acknowledged the man and introduced Donna.
”I have baked this cake especially for you this evening.”
