73 Lame Superhero (1/2)

Half way to her office Li Xiuiyng caught sight of her reflection in one of the windows. She was still wearing her scrubs and theater shoes.

She changed her path and headed to the changing area instead.

Once Li Xiuying was in her street wear she headed for her office once again.

Li Xiuying reached for the door handle and opened the door slightly. She saw the back of someone sitting in the chair opposite her desk. It was clearly Qin Song.

Li Xiuying paused with the door slightly agar 'To enter or not to enter, that is the question.'

Li Xiuiyng chose to leave.

Qin Song turned around to face the door. He could see that the person on the other side had no intention of entering.

Qin Song: ”Dr. Li may I have a moment of your time please.”

Li Xiuying still did not enter. She heard footsteps approach the door and felt a tug at the door handle. Li Xiuying immediately let go.

Qin Song stood in the door way.

Li Xiuying spoke coldly: ”Mr. Qin.” Her eyes flicked to the hallway and to the path of escape.

Qin Song took a step forward causing Li Xiuying to wake a step back. He then sidestepped to stand behind her and ushered her into the room. The scene was reminiscent of a sheepdog herding a lost lamb.

Li Xiuying went to her desk and sat in her seat. Qin Song sat opposite her.

Li Xiuying: ”Yes?”

Qin Song cleared his throat. : ”Dr. Li about the meeting this morning. There seems to have been another misunderstanding between us. Huang Fuhua's operation is beneficial to both the hospital and yourself. You may have wanted to get revenge on the Chen family but there are other ways to do so without sacrificing yourself. Yang Zian would have tried to ruin your career; so it is better that you avoid him altogether. I also want to talk about the allergy incident. You seem to have misunderstood my intention. I wasn't saying I'm allergic to you, I was saying it was your perfume/body mist. If its too much trouble for you to change it then I'll just take the antihistamines if I feel a reaction coming on.”

Li Xiuying sighed. 'Why was everything a misunderstanding to this man?'

Although she didn't really want to talk to Qin Song right now; what he said made Li Xiuying contemplate things from Qin Song's point of view. As her employer he was just trying to protect his assets. She was a commodity to Unity hospital.

Li Xiuying also thought back to her initial revenge plan. She had erred in her plotting. Previously she didn't think about the consequences to Unity hospital if she were to operate at Emerald hospital. She would have to make sure that she always ensured she considered the bigger picture.

Qin Song frowned as he looked at the silent Li Xiuying.

Qin Song: ”Dr. Li...”

Li Xiuiyng was pulled out of her thoughts by Qin Son'gs voice.

Li Xiuying abruptly stood up: ”Leaving.”

She would have to do her list odd jobs tomorrow.

Qin Song: ”One moment.” Qin Song checked his phone quickly and was wondering where his back up was.

Li Xiuying saw that Qin Song had no intention of continuing to talk to further. She picked up her briefcase and intended to leave.

As she opened the door.

A childish voice shouted her name from the hallway: ”Big Sisssttttteeeerrrrr Yiiiinnnnngggggg Yyyyyyiiiiinnnngggg!”

Qin Song muttered under his breathe: ”Its about time.”

Li Xiuying saw a little bun being carried by elder Qin.

Little fourth kept tapping his father's shoulder to walk faster. Elder Qin tried to increase his speed but was struggling to do so. He was out of breathe and his forehead was covered by a sheen of sweat.

Li Xiuying smiled at little 4th.

Qin Song felt his chest constrict when he saw Li Xiuying smile. He searched his blazer for his antihistamines and swallowed one.

Little 4th: ”Daddy put me down. You're so out of shape.”
