Chapter 7 (2/2)
“Yes, and you are?”
“I’m the butler of Lu Garden on Fu Gui Road. Congratulations on being accepted by Lu Garden to work as a maid. When will you be able to report for duty and make cookies for the young lady?”
Lu Garden…young lady…cookies…? Bai Qian was a little confused after hearing this.
But when she heard that it was a call from the Lu Garden, she quickly agreed, “Now.”
“Okay,” the butler said and quickly hung up the phone.
Confused, Bai Qian held her phone and knocked on Bai Xu’s door. She asked Bai Xu, “Xu’er, I just received a call from the Lu Garden.”
Bai Xu opened the door and took off the earphones in his ears. His eyes sparkled as he said, “Mommy, aren’t you trying to get close to Lu Rong? Bai Qian patted his head and said in annoyance, “Really, you’re such a mischievous child.”
“Mommy, hurry up and go. There might be a surprise waiting for you.” Bai Xu blinked at her strangely.
“What about Ran Ran? She hasn’t woken up yet?” Bai Qian tilted her head to look at Bai Ran’s room.
“Not yet,” Bai Xu immediately pulled her back from her train of thoughts. He patted his chest to assure her, “Mommy, don’t worry. I’ll definitely take good care of my sister!”
Although Bai Xu was young, he was sometimes more thoughtful than an adult like her.

Therefore, Bai Qian made her way to the Lu Garden with ease.
Lu Garden was exactly the same as she remembered it to be. The flowers that she had planted in the front yard were still there. It was the blooming season and they were colorful and adorable.
All of this seemed to have never changed. It was as though she had simply gone out for a stroll and then returned.
It was only when she saw her reflection on the glass door that she realized that she was no longer the Ye Qian she used to be.
Her appearances had changed. She was now Bai Qian!
