“Liar!” Xiaotu shot up from the bed, and she stared furiously at Cheng Zhiyan. “In the TV show, I saw that the people kissed for such a long time. This quick little peck isn’t called a kiss at all. My mommy, daddy, and Auntie Zhou all give me pecks like this. I peck you like this every day also.”

“…”

Cheng Zhiyan didn’t know what to say as he gazed at Xiaotu. He reached out to wipe the sweat from his forehead.

“Children these days aren’t so easy to trick anymore…”

Xiaotu wasn’t going to worry about all of that. She leaped from the bed and flung herself at Cheng Zhiyan.

“Be careful.” Cheng Zhiyan quickly caught Xiaotu with both of his hands and steadied himself so that they both wouldn’t fall on the ground.

“I’m certain I saw the two of them go like this…” Xiaotu grasped Cheng Zhiyan’s neck, and she didn’t even give him a chance to react before she pressed her lips against Cheng Zhiyan’s mouth. She blocked his lips with hers for quite a long time before she finally removed her lips and said, “They kissed like this, and they didn’t separate for a long time.”

“Well then, let’s just treat that as a kiss…” Cheng Zhiyan didn’t know whether to cry or laugh as Xiaotu continued to cling to him. So he carried her back to her own bed and carefully laid her down as he said, “Now that you know what a kiss is, can you behave yourself by going back to sleep?”

“But I still have the feeling that something isn’t quite right…” Xiaotu bit her finger and stared at Cheng Zhiyan with her huge eyes as she muttered.

“This is something adults do. You are still too young, so you can’t do this. Do you understand that?” Cheng Zhiyan reached out to pat Xiaotu on the head as he said to her tenderly, “Daddy and mommy kiss you to express their affection for you, yet this type of kiss can only be done with someone you love.”

“That would be Brother Orange Juice.” Xiaotu quickly added.

“All right then…” Cheng Zhiyan stared at her with an amused expression on his face. Then he nodded as he said, “You’ll understand this better when you grow a little older, but for right now, just hurry up and go to sleep.”

“What age do I have to wait until?”
