129 Like Nothing Happened (1/2)
Kyler's voice came from their backs and it made them turn exasperated.
Rodora looked at him with so much emotion to tell in her but she did not know where to start.
Kyler approached them in a calm and confident manner yet it was a direct opposite of what he truly felt.
He was glad to see his mother well and she's still as beautiful as he remembered. She's quite aged now but time only refined her more. The black dress she's wearing was another thing as she carried it well.
”What? Happy not to see me?” Kyler asked once again and he couldn't hide the amusement in his voice after seeing that they were stunned.
”Leo...” Rodora uttered softly but it contained a lot of emotions.
”No... I'm not Leo... He has been long dead... I'm Kyler...” he interrupted his mother. He could not help but feel pained after seeing her disappointed expression.
Lyndon on the side, did not talk as he wanted to diminish his presence in front of them. But Kyler had long noticed him in fact, he noticed him first upon entering this place. He just acted as he did not saw him and did not exist.
For a very long time, they felt awkward with each other's presence but Lyndon speaks.
”Shall we have dinner first.. I want to talk about you something...” He then looked at Kyler which seated in the middle of him and Rodora.
Kyler just nodded and picked up the menu which is on the table already. As expecting, the food here is quite sumptuous and of the best of the best.
”I'll have Grilled Duck Curry, Vegetable Fritters... Hmmm... I don't know what kind of drinks I should I have...” he muttered softly like he nothing happened. He stood no grace upon ordering for himself.
Lyndon is quite shaken by his nonchalance and his light mood. He thought that the man will directly confront him of what really happened back then but the man seems to be in the mood of eating than talking about serious matters so, he did not probe further and let the man do as e pleases. Anyway, now that he's here, he could talk him about it and the fact that he showed up shows that he wanted some kind of explanation.
This thought satisfied Lyndon so he ordered his usual meal.
”I'll have the usual... lamb cutlets and a bottle of red wine to be servedafter dinner. What about you Mom?” he turned his sight to Rodor who just kept staring at the man who sat beside her.
