87 Inhale, Exhale 1 (1/2)

Jane and Winston shopped for their wedding gifts together and with this, they had a better understanding with each other.

They ate dinner together and Winston was the most delighted of it and Jane on the other hand did not mind his advances towards her. In fact, she liked it.

Winston drove her back to her condo around eleven in the evening. Though it's late, the two enjoyed each other's company to the point that Winston went up with her to her little abode.

Jane did not mind his presence thus she invited him out of courtesy. She naively thought that Winston only saw her as a friend and he could be trusted. All her defenses were down before him but the man did not want to step over the boundary. Even though he knew that he could get Jane through that method.

Winston is the first man aside from her father that entered her house. She did not know that inviting a single male in the middle of the night is utterly dangerous. Thankfully, the one she's with is a gentleman and Winston is not that despicable to take advantage of her naïve mind. He knew that Jane had zero experience when it comes to romance and she only showed her feisty attitude to ward off the unnecessary attention. He wanted to pursue the woman with his own capabilities and see the result if they will end up together.

Winston sat on the sofa as Jane went straight to the kitchen to prepare something for him. She want to be a proper host thus a welcome drink is needed.

”What do you want to drink?” she asked through the small bar counter that divides her living room and kitchen.

”A fruit juice will do.” Winston answered her honestly. He did not want her to overly attentive towards him but after seeing her in a pink floral apron changed his mind. ”Add some snacks too, is that okay? I'm quite hungry.” he added with a cheeky smile on his face.

”It's alright. After all, you accompanied me to chose gifts and treated me with dinner.” she said as she busied herself behind the bar counter.

Jane prepared some tacos and tortillas along with a can of beer. She wanted to wash away her fatigue and she invited Winston to join him over a can. The man refused though and settled himself with the fruit juice she prepared.

”I'll be driving back to my house and I'm quite tired too.” he said tactfully. Jane did not get suspicious because the man is quite busy. It is also evident on his face that he's quite tired and she suddenly felt guilty for dragging him around the mall.

”Ohhh... Is that so. It's okay but next time let me treat you.” she smiled sweetly at him. It maybe because of the beer or just Jane just looked so alluring. Her cheeks flushed with red and she smelled great. Winston is having a hard time suppressing his inner demons and he wanted to go home right that instant. He knew that the longer he stayed together with her, the more he's having a hard time. As Jane busied herself with the snacks she prepared, she did not notice the heaving breath of Winston. He internally inhaled and exhaled to calm his senses down.

”Sure. I'll call you when I'm not busy.” the man abruptly stood up and prepared to get home. Jane wanted to walk him down to the lobby but the man declined again.

”I'm okay. I'll get going. It's getting late. You should rest.” he said as he propped up his coat over his shoulders.

”Yeah. Drive carefully.” Jane just reminded him. Winston smiled and nodded before he walked towards the elevator. Jane on the other hand closed and locked the door after Winston disappeared from her sight.

She prepared to rest for the night and she rushed towards the bathroom when her phone rang. It was Maybel whose voice became frantic.

”Hello. Maybel, what's wrong?” she asked. Maybel on the other end did not answer. Jane frowned. Maybel covered her mouth not wanting to scream out of fright.

Saturday.

Lyndon got an emergency situation with the company so he rushed towards his office. Dropping the supposedly saturdate with Misha, he assigned Maybel to accompany his wife to the mall to shop some things.

Misha did not mind Lyndon dropping their date. She knew how busy the man is and she's thankful that even though he's busy, he still finds time to spend with her. So, she did not mind Maybel accompanying her to the mall and she refused to take her personal nurse and bodyguards with her. Lyndon don't know that his mischievous wife dismissed her attendants and she left with Maybel.
