62 Michele’s Confession (2/2)

”I really can't win over you.” Shane complained while laughing.

”It's not true Pa. You will win if you have taken me seriously.” said Lyndon while putting away the chess board. ”I'm no match of the old man. Until now, I can't win against him even just one match.” he admitted bitterly.

Shane could only laugh at Lyndon's defeat from the old man.

Michele looked at them from the door amusingly.She's wearing a pink apron and a spatula on her hands. Her hair were tied in a ponytail. She actually looked cute on it.

Mich finished cooking their dinner. It's a full course Chinese meal. It even have side dishes and Chinese sweets. One of her favorites was the sweet and sour pork which made her learn to cook Chinese food.

Michele laid out the dishes as the two men settles themselves before her eagerly. Then, they dine silently.

After the dinner, Michele mustered her courage to speak. She wanted to tell them the truth and she hoped that it will not ruin anything.

”Say... I wanted to say something to you two. I know you have questions about Belle and me so I will tell it now.” she inhaled a mouthful of air and exhaled. Her hands won't stop shaking and Shane noticed it so he held her hands and pressed it hard while looking at her intently.

”We're listening.” Lyndon said. He too have speculations but he didn't have the leisure to pry into her life out of respect to her as Misha's mother.

Shane also agreed as he nodded his head.

”You know, I went to China when I was around eighteen to find some luck. I tried to apply in different establishments after my tourist visa expired. I needed money so I tried to find work. Luckily, I was hired as a waitress in a pub. It was good experience for me too and later on, I met Billie Yang. He's the one who introduced me to a better workplace. He guided me and even taught me Mandarin.” she bitterly smiled as she recalled her past with Billie.

”Something happened between us and I got pregnant. We had an agreement that after I will give birth to the baby, he will have to pay me a million yuan. Well, I fell inlove with him in the process so I changed my mind. He took care of me, provided my daily needs and even bought a house where I can call my own. He said to me that his family was rich but it did not piqued my interest as I want to have a family of our own. He basically grew up in streets after he was exiled by his father and grandfather. He's also a normal salary man. He said that after the baby born, he will take us to his grandfather and let them accept me and the baby. Maybe I have flown too high that I fell on the ground so hard.” she smiled bitterly again and continued.

One night, Billie talked about his collapsed grandfather. He told me that the old man wanted him to come home and bring the child over with him. I was getting excited as he was telling me this but he said, he will not bring me along because it was his grandfather's request. They did not acknowledged me as his wife. Well, I was really not his wife. The very next morning, he left together with Belle and that was the last time I ever saw my daughter. I waited and waited in the apartment where we lived but they did not come home. So, I applied for work at Country A and continued my degree along the way. And that's when I met you.” she glanced at Shane who's being silent all this while.

She smiled at the men in front of her. ”So, did that answered your questions?” she asked. She wanted to stand up but her hand was gripped down by Shane so hard. He looked at her withred eyes.

Lyndon on the other hand did not know what to feel. Now that the Yang Empire has fallen and Belle is nowhere to be seen, what will he do now that he had learned the truth? How about Misha? What will he do from now on?

With his confused mind, he gulped down the tea he was holding then walked out from the dining room. He left his in-laws and went to Misha's room.
