Chapter 25: Showing Off

Van calmly watched the 4 young cultivators standing outside his door. A crowd had started to form from other disciples passing by.

”It's young master Feng Lin! Looks like he's got his 3 lackeys also.”

”I wonder who had such bad luck that they picked the cave that he had been desiring ever since he heard of the Inner Sect Immortals' Caves.”

Young Master Feng Lin is currently an Inner Sect Disciple. His 3 lackeys are outer sect disciples. But from exceptions by his identity, they were allowed to follow him into the Inner Sect Area without special permission. Young Master Feng Lin had just been promoted to his rank as Inner Sect Disciple when he headed over to select his immortal's cave.

He heard from the Registrations Disciple that someone had already picked the immortals cave that he wanted. He didn't dare fight one of the top Inner Sect Disciples for one of the better already occupied caves so he decided to investigate the owner's identity. Turns out it was just some fresh fish with no experience that had come in.

Feng Lin stared at Van's immortal's cave licking his lips. This new disciple will have given him a new immortal's cave.

”I would like to thank you.”

Feng Lin looked surprised. Was this kid dull or something? Anyone could tell that he and his lackeys didn't exactly have the best of intentions.

”Why? Did we help you in some way?”

”Oh, yes. You helped me very much. I was just in need of some exercise.”

Van smiled calmly. Of course, in the eyes of the 4 outside, Van was looking down on them.

Feng Lin and his lackeys started to fume at Van's words. How dare this new disciple look down on them?

The crowd started whispering and backing up. They could tell that tensions were high and a fight could break out at any moment.

”Time to teach you a lesson you'll never forget. If you can survive my lackeys, you can have a taste of my fist.”

Feng Lin stood there while his three lackeys advanced. They found Van to only be at the 4th Stage of Dantian Formation. Of course, he was at a much higher level, but they didn't know that. After all, there is the saying, ”Ignorance is bliss.”

And in this case, it was very true. Until they find out for themselves that is.

Van stood there calmly as he watched the 3 lackeys at the 4th Stage of Dantian Formation advance on him. I'll give them the surprise of their lives. Van thought to himself and smiled.

”Come on. I'm just one person at the 4th Stage of Dantian Formation. It won't hurt.”

Van said to them, mockingly. One of them backed up a bit. What if he was hiding his real cultivation base? Sadly for him, the other two were infuriated and immediately threw themselves at Van.

”Hurricane Fist!”

”Arcane Totem!”

An incarnation of the wind element appeared next to one of the two attacking Van while the other seemed to have created a small tornado on his fist. Van flicked one of his fingers and dispelled both moves instantly.

The crowd gasped in shock. Those were all out attacks by two cultivators at the 4th Stage of Dantian Formation! Even a cultivator at the 5th Stage would have to take it seriously, not to mention one at the 4th Stage.

Feng Lin started to sweat. He seemed to have offended someone that he shouldn't have offended. But since he had already started it, he might as well finish it too.

Now that Feng Lin reassessed Van, he found Van to be at the 5th Stage of Dantian Formation. Impossible! Feng Lin thought to himself. I swear I found him to be at the 4th Stage just a second ago!

Could it be... that Van was at least at the 6th Stage?!
