13 Chapter 13: (1/2)

〰 One week later 〰

”What do you mean I'm fired?” I question a little beyond shocked as the princ.i.p.al brushed past children running around the halls when I followed him behind.

”You disappear for a week then suddenly come up empty-handed? Oh no. I don't play with fools who never show up on time to work.” He scolds calling me a fool which was a little strange for a grown man in his forties to call a woman in her mid-twenties a fool.

”I called you but you didn't- no you never answered me!” I snap at him when we entered his office. I marched up to his desk, crossing my arms while he closed the door so none of the children could hear us arguing.

”It's not my fault I have a life, Ms. Walker.” He reminds me with a snarky tone, his eyes narrowing at me in a deadly way. ”We all have special ones in our life as you should know.” He says mysteriously and went around his desk.

”What's that supposed to mean?” I question, resting my hands in front of him as he grabbed something from his desk and spared me an indifferent glance.

”You know what that means.” He growls, raising a gun up in my face when my eyes widened in shock and rose my hands in instinct.

”What are you f.u.c.king talking about?! I didn't do anything!” I yell at him as he smirked and shook his head.

”I bite you. I know who you truly are.” He said, his eyes s.h.i.+fting into a blood red and his fangs poking through his mouth when it clicked in my mind.

He's the vampire who bite me... as Xenon!

”What the f.u.c.k is wrong wi- What are you?! Get away from me!” I scream, throwing the papers and school supplies at him while he shot off his gun. Before he could recover from the distraction, I was already out of the room and noticing teachers flying out of their cla.s.sroom. ”Get the kids inside!” I shout, running down the hallway and making a sharp turn around the corner.

I ran into someone making the both of us fall to the ground. A low whine left the child when I heard the princ.i.p.al's thunderous steps nearing where I was.

”Come on.” I leaped from the ground, grabbing the young boy and ushering him into the cla.s.sroom while darting down the hallway once again hearing the princ.i.p.al growl in frustration.

”Get back here!” Another gunshot rang through the hallways as I dove it in time and out of the doors seeing some of the parents. They looked at me a little surprised and annoyed while I was a little surprised they didn't hear the gunshots inside.

”Get down!” I called out, the door burst open and revealing a heavy weighted princ.i.p.al waving a gun in my direction. Before he could shot at me again, I lunged for his arm and pointed the gun into the air as it shot off.

Screams went up in the air while the princ.i.p.al kicked out my leg, but luckily I was able to get the gun in my grasps. He glared down at me with bright red eyes as he quickly reached for the gun in my hands and tried prying it away from me.

”Get off me!” I yell at him, trying to kick him away but his weight was overpowering me rather than his strength.

”You will die right now! My queen wants you g-”

Bang!

The princ.i.p.al stared down at me in pure shock while I shoved him off of me and scrambled away with the gun in my hands. His blood was covering the pavement and myself as he fell limp, looking to have been a wooden bullet.

My heart was racing, only now realizing that I was in grave danger from these b.a.s.t.a.r.ds who want to kill me because of Zavier. It was dangerous for me to even go out with Faye being a.s.sociated with Zavier.

”Faye...?” Zavier's voice came from behind me making me slowly turn to look at him. His green eyes looking at me with softness and kindness that always hurt me. The nice light red s.h.i.+rt reminding me of the blood on my hands right at the moment.

”I didn't mean to do it,” I whispered, throwing the gun away from me and standing up quickly. ”I didn't mean to do it. He came at me and I didn't know what to do. I promise it wasn't intentional. Zavier I didn't mean to-”

”It's okay. It was self-defense. Come on. Let's get you cleaned up.” He held his hand to me as I glanced down at the splatter of blood on my hands. ”It's okay Faye. Come on.” Zavier a.s.sures when I glanced up at him, completely distraught about him seeing me kill someone even though he's seen me kill lots of people already.

Maybe the thought of him seeing me kill someone in real life tore me up while him seeing Xenon was okay since she was known as a killer. Faye wasn't a killer.

Faye is the person I would like to be.

Xenon is the person I am.
