11 Chapter 11: (1/2)

Nava slowed her steps, glancing around her while we held out position. Khole seemed to be almost as alert as she was, but I knew that she would rather a wild lion's touch rather mine right at the moment.

She was angry I hadn't insisted she'd return with Faye and Dawn.

I knew she was, because even if she was confident she still shook like a leaf in a tornado.

”Someone's here. I feel them watching.” Nava says quietly, glancing away around her when Khole nodded in agreement and scanned the five of us with curious glances than the ground around her.

Everyone else seemed on alert and not watching her as Khole was over to the tree on the side and brought her finger to her lips. I watched her pierced her finger before scribbling something on the ground before moving away and going to another tree that was directly across the other tree.

She repeated this process another two times until backing away from her handy work and closing her eyes. She spoke some soft words under her breath before a flash came from her hands, the blood marking she wrote into the ground flas.h.i.+ng for a moment before disappearing.

”I feel them coming, stay alert-”

Something went through Khole before she screamed and thumped on the ground, hard. I lunged towards her and cradled her close to my chest as snickers and laughter sounded from behind all of us.

”Same as always. Surprised to see you're on their side, Dylan. Navalina. Nice to see you again.” The familiar voice from earlier was no other than Andrew just as Khole mentioned earlier. I snapped my angry gaze at him and his red-eyed companion, seeing him toss a remote in his hands.

”What did you do to her?!” I roar, holding her face as her limp body slumped further into mine. I should have demanded she left with Faye and Dawn.

Never will I remake that mistake.

”Oh come on now. You out of all people should know I implant a chip in every one of my slaves.” He snickers, tossing another remote and skimming his gaze to Navalina. ”You know this as well.” Before either of realized what happened, Nava screams in pure agony and dropped to the ground in a pit of pain. Levi snarls at him, grabbing his mate before she hit her head on the ground.

”You b.a.s.t.a.r.d,” I whisper, feeling her stir in my arms making me look down at her in relief. ”Khole... Wake up...” I brushed my fingertips against her cheek as she moaned and leaned away from me.

”I don't think you'll want either of those ladies waking up. They won't be the... same.” A dark grin he had only sent shutters down my spine before the man beside him raised a gun and pointed it at Zavier.

He shot it off and Zavier hadn't even realized it, though the bullet stopped midway and fell to the ground a few feet in front of us. The blood markings that Khole made s.h.i.+ned brightly making me grin at him.

”My Khole is smarter than you let on. She's created a large s.h.i.+eld from you both.” I said with a hint of pride when Andrew growled and shook his head, still pleased with what was happening.

”It does not matter. Those women will be waking and joining my side.” He counters with c.o.c.kiness.

I was about to tell him to f.u.c.k off but I felt a stream of electricity shot out of Khole, hitting Andrew when she winced and held her neck. Andrew flew back, hitting the tree while his companion hurried to his side.

”C-Cade... You m-must knock me out. N-Nava as well.” Khole stuttered, looking as if she was on the urge of losing all control when I blinked my confusion.

”No. I will not-”

”You m-must! I don't care whether you are D-Dylan or not-t! But you have t-” She didn't finish her words before there was a ferrous snarl. We snapped our gazes to Nava slamming her foot into Levi's jaw, her anger spewing from her while lunging towards Zavier and Ivan.

What was this?

”Please!” She pleads me when clenching her eyes shut. ”You have too. I-I can't block it forever.” She whispers, gripping her head while I stared at her. Unsure if I could do such a thing she wishes for.

”I-I can't,” I admit before she dropped her hands into her lap, keeping her eyes shut.

”Must you be so pathetic?” She asks in a darker voice, opening her eyes and revealing the black flooding into them. ”You may think of yourself as some protector but you are only a liar!” A gust of electricity shot from her hands and at my chest as I flew away from her, landing on the ground a few steps from her.

Nava slammed her foot into Levi's chest, sending him spiraling against his back beside me. We both looked at one another unsure of what has happened to our mates when Zavier cracked his fists and walked over to a p.i.s.sed off Nava.

Her dark black hair was just as wild as the look in her eyes. It was as if she was daring him to come at him and he was walking right into her trap.

”You are being a very bad pup, Nava. Time to learn your lesson.” He says while she grinned darkly and motioned him to come at her.

”Of how I've waited to take you down, my Alpha. You should learn how to control your wolves rather than your mate.” Her words made him snarl at her before lunging towards her.

He s.h.i.+fted into his wolf, trying his best to land a hit but Nava was flawless in her defense attacks. Blocking each hit and kneeing him in the gut to earn a sharp yelp. He didn't fall to the ground but his movements were sure slowed down after her sickening attack.

Ian turned his attention to a power surging Khole, her hair flying in the air while electricity zapped around her like the G.o.ddess she was. She looked so beautiful, how I once thought she wasn't worthy enough for a prince like myself.

”You are being an unfair opponent. Striking a man when he treats you nicely. Not very ladylike of you.” Ian tsks, walking towards Khole as she chuckled in an evil way.

”Who said I wanted to be ladylike you b.a.s.t.a.r.d.” She sneers angrily, throwing a gust of power at him before he s.h.i.+elded himself from it. The intensity of her attack was even great for him while he ducked from her attack and yelled something in a foreign language.

Her lightning was pulled away from her target, Zavier, as a green vine wrapped up her leg and held her hands from harming anyone else. Only she burned the vines and threw several more bolts at Ivan. One of them hitting him in the arm and making him drop to the ground only for a moment.

All four of them fighting, but surprisingly the ladies had the upper hand. They worked together, Khole throwing bolts of energy into Zavier while Nava punched Ian any chance she had. The diligent team was tiring our companions and Levi and I needed to get off our a.s.ses and help.

I jumped off my feet, lunging towards Khole as she snarled and strained against my tight hold against her. Levi had the same idea, knocking Nava off her feet when she was distracted with fighting off Zavier's wolf.

Both ladies were violent against their mates as if they couldn't recognize their partners. It was heartbreaking.

”It'd be best if you let me go now.” She purrs in a distracting way while Ian walked towards us, his hand bright with a light that would likely knock her out. ”You don't know what someone like me could do,” Khole says mysteriously, but that didn't make me release her.
