This “(?)” was in the raws, I have no idea why they were used.

The sentence was somewhat confusing, I may have mistranslated it (雪に覆われた道は踏ん張りが利かず、歩き方から変わるので中々に体力を使います。).

The part of “Hunter-san said” wasn’t in the original, the speaker is pretty obvious in j.a.panese because Sakura’s speech pattern is different from the hunter’s, I added the clarification since that isn’t visible in English. I won’t add a note in any future occasions I do that, but do know that it’s unlikely to ever find this kind of text in the original.

I’m fairly certain I used “sword” in the last chapters instead of katana… I kinda decided to be a bit less lazy and search a bit for the meaning of (刀), which is read as katana, I had always thought that katana referred to any sort of sword in j.a.panese language, contrary to the popular belief, but after some searching on this reddit page: /r/Learnj.a.panese/comments/236umr/what_is_the_correct_word_for_sword_in_j.a.panese/ , it seems like there are plenty of different kanjis for swords, and that this one is used for our “traditional” definition of katana, so I’m changing how I addressed it from this chapter onwards.

I think she is saying that as if she’s calling out the name of a special move… I’m not sure though.

I was also weirded out by it, but it’s the best thing I could come up with (刀に気を通し).

As noted in the last chapter, bachi bachi is a SFX that means electricity is flowing.

I think it’s a name of a special move of sorts, there were lots of other ways I could translate this, like “Screaming Flash”, “Flash of the Fighting Spirit”, “Brandis.h.i.+ng Yell” or whatever, I chose this one because it sounded better (気合一閃).

Kinda like in a song’s rhythm, the action is delayed by one beat (ワンテンポ).

I was going a bit crazy with this sentence, because “ie” (いえ) didn’t seem to make any sense on it at all, I was really confused about it… Turns out that, after searching a bit more on, I discovered that “ie” can be another form of “iie” (いいえ), which means “no”… I was going a bit mad with it, because both google translate and bing translate said that it meant “no”, but I knew it could not be that… Well, now I know, a shame it was also used a lot on the last chapter and it also gave me plenty of trouble… This probably means I mistranslated some stuff in which “ie” was used in the last chapter, but I’m not going back to check it.

Interval was used with katakana (インターバル), which is the English word… I don’t know why, but I thought I’d mention it.

This sentence was weird, it may be mistranslated (わたしは足に気を流して踏み込みます。).

This last part was weird… I’m not sure what the author meant with it, so I went mainly with how google translated it (それに、漫画のように頭から雪に突っ込むなんてことにはならなくて済みました。).

This was in katakana, so she is actually saying something like: “Fureimu Aroo!” (フレイム・アロー！)

Just like the last one, it’s on katakana, she is saying something like: “Ais.h.i.+kuro Ransu!” (アース・スパイク)

“Aasu Supaiku!” (アース・スパイク!) Yes, it’s earth, not ice, I triple checked it.

Bata bata (バタバタ) is a SFX that means running around.

“Faia Ransu!” (ファイア・ランス！)

This came out as weird to me, the author used the verb on a past form on this sentence, but it would make a lot more sense to me on the present… I kept it on the past to keep the consistency though.

The way this sentence was structured was a bit strange, she might have eaten less things than all that (保存食のパンと干し肉、それにクッキーと干した果物を食べてようやくお腹も落ち着きました。).

Weird sentence, might be wrongly translated (ここで猟師さんにいなくなられても色々と面倒です。).

I’m still unsure if she’s already 16 or almost 16…

I just wanted to point out this was in the raws as well, I’ll never put a translator note in the middle of the text, I’ll always put them as footnotes.

She didn’t really specify what question Hunter-san made, which came out as weird to me… *shrugs* (そして火にあたりながら、猟師さんの質問に適当に答えながら、保存食を少し齧って夕食にしました。).

I have no idea what this means. (これだけでも雷鳥にわたしがどれだけ気合を入れてきたかがわかるでしょうか？).
