Chapter 12 (2/2)

At the end of the day, Qing Tian was nothing more than a young man of fourteen or fifteen.

No matter how smart and street-smart you were, where could you go?

“As far as I know, the bounty for Wu Yun has been revoked. What is the point of making such a great sacrifice? I'm not a fool,” asked Qing Tian. “Maybe when I'm done with what I know, you'll kill me. So, unless I know what your purpose is, I will never say one more word. “

“Although the bounty for Wu Yun has been revoked, the ”Nushen”'s formula is far more valuable than the bounty.” Yan Jingshe replied, “Besides, he has something more valuable than the bounty.”

“Oh, where is it?” Asked Qing Tian.

“Of course……”

“Shut up!”

Before Yan Jingshe had finished, Kuangman had shouted.

The next moment, Kuangmang had directly clutched Qing Tian's neck. “This guy has no intention of talking about Wu Yun's weakness at all. Can't you hear what he's trying to set you up?”

Yan Jingshe's face turned ugly in an instant.

Qing Tian, pinched by Kuangmang, was almost speechless, and his whole face was a little blue.

“I'll give you one last chance, and if you don't say anything about that man's weakness, I'll really follow what I said before, leaving you without the ability to speak.”

Kuangmang controlled the strength of his hands, and looked downwards at Qing Tian. His expression was particularly malicious.

The other side was serious.

If I can't tell you Wu Yun's weakness, I could really die.

But at this moment, Qing Tian unexpectedly thought , “If I die, what if Wu Yun eats chocolate every day and eat his teeth rotten?”

I must have been fooled by the devil.

So at this critical moment, I still have to think about these trivial matters?

It was probably Qing Tian's apparent unfocused state of mind that angered Kuangmang. For those types of people that refuse a toast only to be forced to drink a forfeit[2], they really can't remember their lessons without being hard-handed.

“It seems that life outside has loosened you up, Angel.” With a sneer, Kuangmang removed his right hand from Qing Tian's neck, pressed Qing Tian's shoulder, and pushed his left hand in the opposite direction of himself.

Crack.

Qing Tian wailed

He wanted to keep quiet, but he hadn't felt such pain in a long time.

“Won't you say it? Next time it's your right hand. ” Kuangmang put his hand on Qing Tian's right arm.

Qing Tian's left hand had dropped at a strange angle.

Kuangmang was a man who did what he said and didn't give Qing Tian any chance to get away.

……. If I die in this place, have I done what I promised Wu Yun?

I think so.

Regardless if you regret it in the future, at the very least, now, there won't be a future.

“I don't know.” Qing Tian closed his eyes and waited for another sharp pain to come.

But what happened next seemed different from what he imagined.

The sharp pain didn't come back.

Instead, he heard the sound of two other heavy objects falling to the ground.

What's going on?

Qing Tian opened his eyes, and he saw the familiar face. In a moment, he almost thought he was killed by Kuangmang, so he was seeing an hallucination.

“Didn't I say that if you were caught, you could say anything to survive?” Wu Yun picked up the Qing Tian and glanced at his arms. “You don't remember what I said.”

Qing Tian looked at Wu Yun and did not speak.

It was just a little red.

The author has something to say:

Yesterday, I went to Mount Potalaka for 20 000 steps. Today, the salted fish[3] will lie down and won't go out. OJZ thanks to the little angel who cast the overlord vote or irrigated the nutrient solution for me.

(The author then thanks some readers who've voted for them)

Thank you very much for your support, I will continue to work hard!

Footnotes:

[1] 眼镜蛇/yǎnjìngshé: lit. cobra. I've decided to spell his name like that for easier reading. He is a new character we haven't been introduced to before.

[2] 敬酒不吃吃罚酒/jìngjiǔbùchīchīfájiǔ. It's a proverb from The Legend of the Red Lantern.

According to , the explanation is composed of two idioms:

1. 不知好歹/bùzhīhǎodǎi: unable to differentiate good from bad, not to know what's good for one, unable to recognize others' good intentions, provoke those you you can't afford, etc.

2. 不识抬举/bùshítáijǔ: fail to appreciate somebody's kindness

So someone that refuses a toast only to be forced to drink a forfeit will be unable to recognize the other's good intentions (idiom 1) & fail to appreciate that kindness (idiom 2) so they'll be forced to drink a forfeit (unfavorable situation, etc.)
