14 Running Away (1/2)

Balling her fists tightly, Nuwa got up while resentfully scrawled at Liena.

Her hair and dress were absolutely disheveled, cheeks were flus.h.i.+ng red. She looked aggressive and... pitiful.

Sensing Nuwa's hostile att.i.tude, Liena stopped her track from moving further. She confusedly scanned Nuwa, didn't comprehend why she was so aggressive. This was their first time meeting. Moreover, she never offended her before. Then why she looked so defensive!

'Don't tell me...'

Liena suddenly felt nervous. Oh-no. Nuwa must be misinterpreted her with those bullies. She shook her hands fast and anxiously said,

”Y-you misunderstood. I'm not with them. I came here to talk to you, to befriend you.”

Hearing Liena's constant denials, Nuwa's cold expression cracked.

She felt hilarious about what she just heard. Did this girl take her as a moron? Who'll believe such lies after undergoing such ruthless experience! She really wanted to laugh at this pig-headed girl. She wondered, how did these rich girls survive without using their brain. Maybe being rich means being lazy, have no life and works to do. That's why they have so much spare times to bully others!

”Too bad, I'm not stupid enough to fall for your young master's ploy. Please take your leave. That's the exit.”

Nuwa vaguely told and thought it was worthless to talk with this person. She didn't want to involve herself with more arguments.

However, Liena still tried to convince further. Seeing her solemn persistent behavior, Nuwa became angry.

”What's wrong with you rich people! What grave sin have I committed that you guys just don't leave me alone? Is it wrong to be born from low-birth? Is it wrong to go against you? Why you always pick up on me and bully me. I-I... ”

Nuwa shouted at first but then her voice became shaky and eyes turned misty. She had enough of her patience. She wanted to show everyone that she was a strong person, but her d.a.m.n overflowing emotions betrayed her. Tightly gritting her teeth, she tried to stop herself from crying. But realizing that it still didn't work, she got extremely annoyed. Why she was so emotional! d.a.m.n it!

Liena's felt agony when her eyes were finally fixed on Nuwa's face. She realized that Nuwa cried for a long time, her eyes and face were red as well swollen.

She suddenly felt heart-wrenching pain as if, sharp needles were poking her heart. She badly wanted to hug and console this miserable little girl who exactly looked like her baby brother. He'd also grit his teeth or clench his fist to stop himself from crying. She draws nearer to Nuwa to give her a warm hug. However, in Nuwa's eyes, her actions were threating.

Without further ado, she threw the rock on Nuwa's direction to warn her. But to her surprise, it falls on Liena's forehead.

Liena didn't notice that rock was slowly landing on her face. Her eyes were solely preoccupied to Nuwa. Even after her face become b.l.o.o.d.y. She didn't even make an 'ah' sound, just keep staring.

There were a few curious people, gathering around them to see what was happening. They thought that Nuwa was a brazen servant who didn't follow her master's orders and was escaping from the manor. So they were gasping and discussing while giving daggers to Nuwa.

But now, her sudden actions made their eyes pop out.

”What did I just see? What kind of servant beats her master? How atrocious!!!”

”This girl is so ungrateful. Her master was so nice to her. But she hit the lady. Peasant-like her doesn't deserve kindness. Hrummph!”

”I've never seen such a kind-hearted master before. She was so polite and kind. Yet this stink took it for granted! Buddha is truly unfair!”

”What will happen to the miss? She is bleeding so heavily. Oh, my poor child. I feel so sad for her.”
