22 You Heathen! (1/2)
Before Magna could decline him, Magna was pulled into a soft embrace as Emily yelled, ”DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT ENLISTING MY BABY BOY, JAMES!!!”
Ironwood frowned as he calmly said, ”Just because I didn't find fault before doesn't means you can act up, deserter.”
Ironwood's woods seemed to anger Emily even more as she screamed, ”Deserter!?! That's funny how you can say that when you sent 10 entire squadrons on a f.u.c.king suicide mission!?!”
The atmosphere suddenly became tense as Ironwood and Emily glared at each other.
Just as Ironwood opened his mouth, he froze as Qrow's voice echoed, ”Jimmy, that's enough.”
With a slight cough, Ironwood straightened himself out as he calmly said, ”Right.”
Qrow turned his focus towards Magna as he curiously asked, ”How come you didn't flip out at Ironwood for arguing with your mother?”
Magna smiled as he happily said, ”I fixed my anger problem.”
Qrow rolled his eyes as he sarcastically said, ”And I've been sober for the last 4 months.”
Instead of biting back, Magna just shrugged as he gave Qrow a look that said, 'Think what you'd like.' before turning towards Ironwood.
Seeing this, Qrow gave Magna an approving nod before saying, ”Jimmy, explain yourself.”
Ironwood's eyebrows twitched when he heard how Qrow addressed him but ignored it as he said, ”From what Qrow's told me, your semblance is quite strong. I believe that you'd grow faster at Atlas than if you attended Signal.”
Qrow suddenly b.u.t.ted in as he added, ”Because I needed to borrow an Airs.h.i.+p to get back to Patch fast, I had to strike a deal with Jimmy here. In return for the Airs.h.i.+p, he's allowed to try and recruit you into the military for the remainder of the trip.”
Ironwood smiled at Qrow's words as he said, ”That's right. Now I'd like to confirm if your power is as strong as Qrow leads me to believe.”
Magna hesitated as he didn't really want to fight right now. He had only just woken up and just wanted to spend time with his family. In the end though, he decided to grant Ironwood's request in return for letting his family experience flying in a travel-type Airs.h.i.+p.
---
The Airs.h.i.+p had just landed in large plain. In the distance was a small village while rows and rows of wheat grew in abundance.
Magna slowly walked out of the s.h.i.+p as he asked, ”So, how are you going to test my abilities? I don't really want to fight Qrow again.”
Ironwood softly shook his head and said, ”No, you won't be fighting against Qrow. We are here to test your capabilities, not make you fight to the death.”
As their feet finally touch the ground, Magna noticed a small group of people that seemed to be walking towards them.
However, once the group came into sight, Magna became stunned. Leading the group was a beautiful girl with white hair and icy blue eyes. Following the girl, was a miniature version of her. The only differences were the fact that the little one had longer hair and wore a dress. The rest of the people following behind the two girls were a mix of bulters and soldiers.
Ironwood frowned seeing the butlers and the little girl but didn't lose his cool as he sighed and said, ”Winter, why are civilians following behind you?
Winter stood calmly as she replied, ”General, I applied for family visitation rights last month. Today is the day.”
”Oh. At ease then.”
With a quick nod, Winter turned towards Magna. She released a small giggle when she saw the boy staring at her in a daze.
Luckily, her giggling managed to wake Magna up as he blushed and turned away. Qrow outright burst into laughter, while Magna's parents and even Ironwood softly chuckled. The only people that didn't seem happy were Argo, Luna, Emerald and the mini-version of Winter.
Speaking of the devil, the little carbon copy stood before everyone and arrogantly said, ”Hmph! Who are you!?! Don't look at my sister, you heathen!”
Taken back, Magna looked confused as he asked, ”Are you talking to me?”
