CHAPTERFIFTEEN.

LynnieandEunicetalkedbrightlytoeachotheroverdinnerandIsatmakingplansforthenextdayanddidn'tlisten.Politelyaftercoffeewepartedforthenight,andatelevenIdroveouttoOrpheuswithafreshreelforthereceiverintherocks,andbroughtbacktheoneIhadfittedearlier.

WaltcamebackintomyroomasIwasrunningitthrough,andwebothlistenedtoCulhamJamesOffentalkingtoMattandthentoYola.

Yolawasabetterbetfromourpointofview,becauseherangryfemininevoicescatteredhighersoundwavesoutofthereceiver,andonecouldimagineUncleBarkholdingitinchesawayoutofdeferencetohiseardrums.

Hewasdoinghisbesttosootheher.'Mattsaysitcouldhavebeenworse;someofthesevandalshavethrownmola.s.sesandpreservesandevensewagearoundinpeople'shouses...'
