Chapter 262: Calamity Black Dragon (1/2)

A burst of QI erupted in the battlefield and a pillar of darkness connected the earth and the sky. No-b lost focus for a mere second, and the hand holding his enemy flew in the sky. Ed was now free from his clutches, but his anger towards him hadn't subsided yet. His rage burned inside of him, and his eye never parted from No-b. A moment of silence ensued, which was broken by the anger filled shout of the herculean man.

No-b ground his teeth and retreated back to Sarin's side and demanded, ”Ask your little pet to heal me as well!”

”And why should I do that? You intrude upon my battle, and ask for my help? Aren't you ashamed?” Sarin said with a smile. ”You should take care of your own wounds, little chameleon.”

No-b looked furious but decided better than to push his luck against Sarin. He held out his spatial ring finger, which was luckily not attached to his severed arm, and withdrew a couple of items. He quickly ate the pills and drank the potions, all while attaching a plant like substance on his stump. His flesh started to grow, faster than the eye could follow. It was back as new, but from No-b's appearance, it was clear that it cost him quite a lot.

Back at the pillar of darkness, Gobuta jumped up and flew into the sky, standing next to Ed in an instant. Behind him was the deceased body of one of Sarin's subordinates, buried in the abysmal pillar. He made short work of his enemy once he noticed the Kraken.

Gobuta looked at Ed expectantly and said, ”I want him! I decided that the first one will be him!”

Ed took his eyes off No-b, looked at Gobuta and said, ”Go for it. I'll make sure they don't interrupt you.”

Gobuta's face lit up along with his dark tattoos as he shot toward the Kraken. Sarin wanted to interrupt him, as he feared for his Avatar, but a slash had interrupted him.

Ed attacked him using his Space magic, and Gobuta had already started fighting against the Kraken. Ed contacted his system secretly and asked, ”Can he make it his own? Even if it's only an Avatar?”

[The Avatar is the remaining soul imprint forcefully taken by a cultivator. As long as he 'kills' it, I'll be able to scan the soul and retrieve all the important information, thus making a card for Gobuta.]

Ed's face revealed a smile as he received the system's answer. No-b was already back in the sky and attempted to attack Ed, while Sarin was sitting back, watching his Avatar fight against the Ogre.

No-b was pushed away by Ed's KI, as he charged up to the maximum. His golden KI and Ren aura fused together and continued to enhance one another. The flux of aura continued to rise and grow as Ed powered up further and further. Then, like a meteor, he crashed into No-b. His black katana penetrated the man's chest, nearly missing his heart. No-b panicked and retreated quickly. He could feel that his lung was punctured, but had no time to worry about it.

'How?! How come he's faster and stronger than before?!' he wondered. Of course, he had no idea how Ed was able to grow stronger by killing his enemies.

Back at the ground, Sarin was about to make a move when he noticed his Kraken falling back, however, the ground around him froze up, his legs included. He looked up and gazed at Emilia with a non-interested look.

”You should know that you are no match for me,” he said. ”Go away, or you will die, like your mother.”

”I don't believe you'll be able to kill me. I daresay I'm better protected than you,” Emilia answered with a smile. However, almost instantly after, a purple smoke erupted out of Sarin's hand; it enveloped Emilia.

”So be it,” he said while turning around, certain of his victory. An ice blade emerged from within the smoke and attacked him, but he was able to dodge it just in time. He looked back and noticed a barrier surrounding Emilia, which protected her from his strongest poison. The battier soon waned and disappeared, leaving only Emilia's untouched body.

Emilia discarded a piece of jewelry, all while withdrawing a second one from her spatial ring. Ed had mass manufactured protection jewelry in order to protect all of his friends from fatal attacks. She started to hold off Sarin, while Ed's monsters and the Sword Sect members finished off the remaining Poison sect minions.
