Chapter 246: Nirvana Blade (1/2)

Fantasy System Shigun 29280K 2022-07-20

The green plains turned crimson with blood. Hundreds, if not thousands, of potion bottles spread all over the battlefield. Miraculously, some of them remained intact even with the harsh battle conditions. Ed and his companions' equipment had long lost its original color. They turned red from the blood and all other viscous fluids that came out with their injuries.

How long did they fight for? They truly didn't know. Ed was the only one keeping watch of time. He needed to know when 24 hours would pass since his first use of his Berserk skill. Thus, he kept asking the system for a time update every once and a while.

The others didn't care about the time. They simply turned their switch on and focused solely on the battle. Merry and Suika were, arguably, working the hardest. Not only were they attacking the dragon, but they healed anyone that got injured. The only exception was Ed, who could handle injuries with his Regeneration.

'How much time?' Ed asked the system in his mind. His mouth was too busy panting and catching a breath, to talk.

[Two more hours. You can turn in into twelve minutes, but that's not your goal now, right?]

'Yeah. I'm reserving that for something else.' Ed, right after receiving the answer, flew towards the dragon.

The dragon, although fighting multiple opponents at once, did not lose its QI. It received many injuries, but it was in better shape compared to the individuals fighting it. Raikou was doing more than his body could handle. Each time, he went into his Shadow-Lightning mode, and he pinned the dragon down, allowing the others t unleash their attacks. But, due to the high strain on his body, repeating it many times started to take its toll on him.

Merry and Suika's healing didn't do work, and Ed's potions weren't recovering all of his QI. Still, Raikou didn't stop attacking and kept going on.

Goburou used his Hatsu to make two copies of himself. The copies were responsible for intercepting the dragon's laser breath. Since they were made of blood, they could reform themselves even after being hit. Garu assisted the copies by creating mountains of ice that blocked the laser breaths' initial attack.

Sieg chose not to summon any Dullahans, as they would be easy targets for the dragon. Instead, he focused on using his magic to attack. That, he had confidence in.

Mehen used his enormous body to block any physical attack the dragon tried to make. His scales, which were reinforced by QI, proved to be more than a match for the dragon's claws and fangs. However, he never attacked even once. As if he was biding his time, waiting for a chance to come.

Gobuta and WarGreymon were the ones doing the highest amount of damage. They never stopped attacking. No matter how many times they were sent, plummeting down to the ground, they always stood back up and counter-attacked.

The fight was not going to end anytime soon.

'How much time?!'

[30 minutes left.]

Ed started to lose his cool. Raikou collapsed in front of him after using up every little ounce of strength he had. He was the one keeping the group from losing to the dragon, and now he was gone.
