Chapter 151: Bloodless Future (1/2)
Ed incinerated every part of the corpse of the old man. He even used his 'Smoldering Blade' technique to make sure the job was done. It was the only way he thought that could appease his anger towards the man who killed those close to him. Ed turned back and looked at Bella who was standing where Ed told her before.
”How have you been, Bella?” It was their reunion after a long time. Even longer for Bella. ”Drink this.” Ed frowned after looking at the injury left on her neck, so he gave a potion. Instead of taking it, Bella looked at him in a daze. After a couple of seconds, she tackled him in a hug. She started crying while hugging him. No one knew if it was due to the incident she just experienced, or because she met the bother she thought was dead. Ed let her do as she wanted, caressing her head. He noticed that she got taller than she was when he last saw her. He smiled and spoke to her, ”We have some stuff to take care of, let's go!”
Ed teleported both of them to the wall. Then he flew them both to the top, all so he can get a good look at the situation. His companions took care of those that managed to pass the protection of the Avalon army. Ed's words to them were to 'protect the kingdom' so they did just that. They did not get involved too deeply in the battle. They also saved those that were in danger. All of them noticed Ed coming back and so made their way towards him.
”Thank you for your help everyone.” Ed thanked them while Bella looked curiously at the new faces.
”Mister Edward!” A voice called to Ed. Oliver shouted Ed's name from far away. Even though he was overcome with emotions, he didn't abandon his post as he was a vital part in the protection of the wall.
”Long time no see! You've gotten bigger!” Ed waved at him from far away. However, he quickly turned his attention back to the battle. He noticed that the soldiers and disciples' morale was very low. Sieg told him that some of them were thinking about deserting their posts or even joining Blood sect. This made Ed frown, but he could understand their thoughts. Everyone wanted to live the longest possible.
”We're going to kill everyone. But, it's meaningless if this happens again when I'm not around and they actually act upon their thoughts. So, don't act until I'm finished.” Ed told his companions while he stepped to the edge of the wall. His Ki started rumbling and he started shouting.
”All troops, ATTENTION!” Ed hollered at the top of his lungs. His voice pierced through heaven and earth. It reached the ears of everyone in a radius of more than a hundred kilometers. He used his Ki, Haki, and Nen to produce such an effect.
”Fear may have taken hold of your hearts. Those of you that are such cases, you may retreat and you will be pardoned! A soldier filled with fear will only endanger those that fight next to him. However know that fear isn't evil, build your confidence for the next time and overcome it!” By now everyone stopped fighting and looked towards the shouting figure on top of the wall. Some of them quickly recognized Ed, while some others couldn't until they saw Bella beside him. Ed also changed a little during his year of absence.
”It's Master Ed!” ”Master Ed has returned!!” Some of the disciples noticed him and hope-filled their hearts. It was a self-confidence booster to have the first prince by their side during the battle. Not even Elizabeth or Eric could produce such a result.
”He's finally back.” Elizabeth had tears in her eyes, but she couldn't lose her focus. People may have stopped fighting, but some monsters went berserk when they felt Ed's Ki.
”Took him long enough!” Eric and Griffin, although apart, spoke the same thing. Edmund continued to smile while looking at his opponent, who stopped to look at Ed.
”However! Let me remind you that if you were to run away, your family, friends, your loved ones! All of them will suffer at the hands of the despicable Blood sect! Blood sect that has no problem with letting monsters kills children. Tell me, do you want them to suffer such a CRUEL FATE?!” Everyone could feel their blood boiling thanks to Ed's words. Those who felt weak due to their injuries got another boost in strength. Such was the ability of a natural born leader like Ed. Only such people could use the Conqueror's Haki, as it meant they were a worthy vessel of being a King.
”Those of you who want to see, who want their children and grandchildren to see, a BLOODLESS FUTURE! THROW YOUR LIVES AWAY AND FOLLOW ME!!” Ed's last sentence was especially loud. It penetrated deep in the hearts of the people of Avalon kingdom. When he finished, he jumped over the wall and descended to the battlefield. A loud roar sounded, not losing to Ed's voice, and the citizens of Avalon Kingdom screamed. Even those not on the battlefield, but inside the walls, were affected by his speech.
