46 Chapter 46: Three Days (2/2)
Caesar nodded his head in approval ”that's my girl”
He could feel another pair of eyes glare at him from behind but he didn't pay it much heed, he started to eat the breakfast placed in front of him… It consisted of simple ham, Eggs, toast, Bacon, and salad.
”How is the implementation of the military I suggested,” Caesar asked curiously as he bit into a piece of toast
”Sigh, I have managed to convince most of the officials, however, many of them still disagree... ” Crowley sighed loudly and said in an exasperated tone.
”Who are the main opposition to you and your faction?” Caesar asked another question curiously
”Surprisingly, the entire right wing has accepted the new military, it is the financial wing that is still hesitant”
Caesar nodded his head slowly ”The financial cost of upkeeping an army is indeed drastic, especially when you gain a sudden increase of population” Caesar said
”The reason why it's taking so long is because the financial wing wants to test the insurance thing first, if it works they will gladly accept paying for the new military,” Crowley said with relief.
”The problem is, making such a huge change and getting all of the citizens to understand it is going to take a long time” Caesar replied after thinking for a second.
”Alas, that is why we have promised the soldiers that we will be changing systems in a month, but I'm afraid it may end up being longer than that”
”I see, the soldiers are training extra hard… Don't make them wait too long” Caesar said with a solemn expression.
”Well, enough talking about me… I heard from Sebastian you are leaving soon?” Crowley turned towards Caesar and asked with a slightly sad tone.
”Yes, I will be leaving in three days… I will be back soon though” Caesar replied and continued eating breakfast.
”Where are you going? And what are you doing?” Crowley asked again in confusion.
”My business requires me to move around, I will be going to a different kingdom in a faraway place… I'm not sure how long I will be gone”
”Hmmm, do you want some guards to accompany you?” Crowley hummed and asked after thinking for a minute.
”I will be taking Ahri, Joe, and possibly a few others with me… I will travel incognito so there shouldn't be a problem with safety” Caesar answered back.
”What? Daddy and mommy are leaving!?!?” Elizabeth cried out in shock from the table and ran towards Caesar jumping in his arms.
Caesar rubbed her hair and whispered into her ear soothingly ”don't worry, darling, I will bring back many presents, also, I hope to see that you are doing well in school when I return”
Elizabeth nestled in Caesar's chest ”Hmph, you think you can bribe me with gifts? You underestimate me”
Caesar kissed her forehead ”I will buy you a beautiful teddy flame bear and give you lots of those sweets you love” Caesar said teasingly
”Y-you mean it? I-I guess I can allow you to leave for the time being then” Elizabeth puffed up her cheeks and said hesitantly
”Haha, I will be back sooner or later, don't worry”Caesar chuckled out loud and rubbed Elizabeth's soft hair.
The rest of the breakfast was enjoyed in harmony, once they finished eating Caesar picked up Ahri once again and looked towards Joe.
”Come to my room in an hour or so,” He said.
”Pssh, one hour? You sure don't last that long” Joe put on a mocking smile while looking at Caesar carrying Ahri.
”Hmph, he lasts way longer than you would little man,” Ahri said mockingly and glared at Joe
Caesar rolled his eyes at the both of them and carried on walking to his room, once he reached his room, he placed Ahri on the bed ”I am going to go get Edward, wait here for me” Caesar said towards Ahri that was sitting on the bed.
without waiting for her reply Caesar quickly rushed out of the room and headed towards the palace gates, he passed the many maids and butlers until finally, those huge doors were reflected in his eyes.
*creak*
”Have a safe trip, your highness” The guards said respectively as Caesar approached.
”Thank you, I will be back soon” Caesar replied shortly and walked out of the palace, he walked down the large granite steps and headed for the training grounds where Edward normally resided.
He passed the busy streets and soon made it to the training grounds, Edward was busy teaching many of the knights his sword techniques.
”That reminds me, I need to read more of that sword art in that book my father gave me,” Caesar thought to himself when he saw Edward teach the knights.
Caesar waited a few minutes until Edward was finally done giving a demonstration, once he finished up Caesar strode forward and greeted him.
”Edward, let's go back to the palace… I have some things we need to discuss”
Edward turned around and nodded his head ”I was planning on talking to you today anyway, I'm surprised you came to me first though” Edward replied with a smile.
”Well, let's hurry and head back, Ahri is waiting for us”
Edward nodded his head thoughtfully and walked behind Caesar, the knights didn't even notice Caesar's entrance and they continued to work hard on their sword practice.
Caesar and Edward made their way to the palace in silence, they shortly arrived at the palace steps and walked up the stairs.
*creak*
”Welcome back your highness” The guards greeted respectively
Caesar nodded his head and walked inside, he walked through the long halls and entered into his room.
*creak*
Both Caesar and Edward walked in and were greeted by a sleeping Ahri, Caesar shook his head wryly and pulled a table out in front of the bed quietly.
”It should be some time before that damn dwarf gets here anyway, we will let her sleep for a while” Caesar whispered to Edward.
Edward glanced between Ahri and Caesar back and forth for a few seconds being smiling knowingly and nodding his head in acceptance.
