25 Chapter 25: Kneel (2/2)
”Continue”
George struck down again on the now crouching princes back causing him to scream out in pain and fall in his own puke
George once again looked at Caesar but Caesar just coldly replied with one word
”Continue”
”AHHHHH” The prince's cry's echoed throughout the training grounds causing Ahri to turn away and even Edward furrow his brows.
Caesar raised his hand to stop George and walked over towards the crown prince and lifted up his head by pulling his hair.
”Do you understand prince? You ordered a man much stronger than you to kneel before you… You threatened that same man's family for what? Because you were born higher than him?”
”These men trained through hell to become stronger, to protect this kingdom, the people, the royalty… And you think you deserve to order these men to kneel before you because you were born 'higher' than them?”
”You are nothing,” Caesar said while looking down at the prince as though he was a worm
”P-please spare me… my father is the k-king”
Caesar looked down coldly at the prince and spoke one word
”Kneel”
”Y-y-you!!!”
Killing intent suddenly enveloped the entire training grounds as he looked down at the prince and repeated.
”Kneel”
The prince started shedding tears as he slowly kneeled in front of Caesar, his face that was filled with pride a minute ago was now thrown away and only a brat with shame remained.
”You must know the gravity of kneeling before someone to order someone to kneel before you… Your title of prince means nothing here, and your father's influence means nothing.”
Caesar paused for a second and continued
”But, I will make you capable of ordering men to kneel. I will give you a title that means something in this next week”
”STAND!” Caesar roared
The prince slowly stood up with rage in his eyes ”I-I swear one day I will surpass you!”
”It's better to make attainable dreams prince, you don't want to lose faith on your path”
The prince gnashed his teeth in anger while Caesar smiled and said ”do 150 push ups”
”150?” The prince said surprised but seeing Caesar's cold eyes he didn't question any longer and started doing push-ups.
Caesar looked towards his knights and ordered: ”bring me a whip”... The knights looked at Caesar with fear in their eyes before they hustled about and brought him a whip.
As the prince was struggling to do push-ups Caesar started talking casually ”I heard a story once, one day a certain prince went out of the castle on his carriage and a little girl fainted on the road… but instead of helping the poor child the prince whipped the child to death for her insolence of getting in the way of the prince's path”
The prince did around 34 pushups but his arms gave out and he plopped to the ground
”PANG”
”AHHH”
The sound of a whip hitting flesh and scream right after echoed throughout the training grounds
”Did I tell you to stop prince?” Caesar said while emphasizing the 'prince'
The prince continued doing push-ups
”PANG”
”PANG”
”AHHH”
”PANG”
The sound of screaming and a whip hitting flesh sounded out for more than an hour before it finally stopped… The knights looked at Caesar and stuttered ”I-It looks like he fainted, I guess we are stopping here for today”
Caesar looked at the knights dead-pan and said: ”bring me a bucket of cold water”
Finally, after three more hours of 'training' Caesar looked at the tear-filled and bloody prince with an apathetic look… ”training for today is done… We will continue at the same time tomorrow, don't be late or I will drag you here myself”
The prince didn't have enough strength to answer back and just fainted on the spot, one of the prince's aids dragged him back to the carriage and they drove off soon after.
Caesar looked at the knights and said ”tomorrow we will acquaint the bear brigade and the prince together, I'm sure they will be great friends” Caesar smiled widely
The knight's in the training grounds all shuttered but they looked at the marshall with more respect than ever before… The line ”threatening their family is threatening my family” all filled their hearts.
”Yes Marshall!” they roared back in reply
Suddenly Caesar looked at the knight's softly and said: ”remember the gravity of kneeling, never kneel to those that order it or are undeserving… That is my biggest taboo”
The knight's all nodded solemnly
--------
”Haha, Anna. What's the long face? With our amount of soldiers, how could they possibly have a chance”
”I know, but I feel as though I'm bringing all of these elves to war for a personal grudge and it doesn't sit well with me”
”Don't worry Anna, you don't need a reason to exterminate evil… Just like the church exterminated those disgusting races in the dark continent”
”Hehe, I suppose you are right… you always make me feel better you know that?” she giggled softly
The man scratched the back of his head and replied seriously ”I will make that evil general kneel before you and beg for forgiveness”
