Chapter 63 - Full Compensation Plus Interest (1/2)

Half an hour passed, and Chen Mu had just finished the last audit file that he had to review. Chen Mu raised his head as he stretched his arms and legs. His gaze landed upon the couch, where his sleeping beauty laid with her disheveled hair spread out like a fan against the leather material and her petite body tangled in the thick blanket. With one look, he was instantly captivated by her gorgeous light pink flush colored cheeks, reminding him of a certain rose. The light pink or pale pink rose that symbolized joy, happiness, and gentleness.

As if she was a fragile yet sinfully beautiful flower herself, it lured him closer to her side; wishing he could protect her from all intruders. If he had one wish that would be guaranteed to come true, then it would be for her to always remain as peaceful and away from harm. His fingers brushed against her cheeks lightly, afraid that it would startle her awake.

Perhaps it was his gentle gaze or warm fingers that touched her skin, her body suddenly moved and rotated towards him. Facing her sudden movement, his hand froze while a few beats from his beating heart could be heard wandering off tune from his heartstrings. ”Nmnmm..” she mumbled quietly in her slumber in a half awakened state.

He leaned forward where his lips remained two inches from her ears, ”Psst, my dear, time for lunch.” he whispered in a low chuckle, hoping to see her long eyelashes flutter and for her to see him first thing after her nap. Unfortunately, to her, his voice sounded like the aftermath of a rainstorm in a rain forest where small and gentle raindrops could be heard dripping from one leaf to the next. Slowly and soothingly, a sweet smile relaxed on her face as she fell back asleep.

Seeing her sleeping so comfortably, he didn't have the heart to wake her. Therefore, he decided to take his laptop and sit on the small empty space on the couch between the petite figure and the floor so that he could concentrate on two tasks. The first task was to keep his girlfriend from rolling off the couch because she was barely an inch from falling and any movements could wake her up. The second was to look for lunch options so that she would not starve when she wakes up.

While roaming through different menus from the internet, the strength of his thighs that he used to support more than half his butt that was sticking out of the edge of the couch, began to weaken. His thighs were growing numb, but his girl was still sleeping harmlessly.

He silently repeated the mantra, hoping it could help ease the pain and numbness that he was feeling. When that didn't work, he put his laptop aside, closed his eyes, and said, ”Pain is just an illusion. An illusion. If you don't think about it, it doesn't exist.”

Suddenly, his eyelids flipped upwards when somebody's hand found its way to his waist and slid down his ass. He turned around to see the girl, still sleeping, but hands surely knew where to dig for the treasures. His mind split into two teams; Team Angel and Team Devil. The Angelic team cheered him on in maintaining the current position because he didn't want to wake her up. Meanwhile, the Devil team pointed the red horns that were on their heads to making a move on her and waking her up.

While he struggled to make an inner conflicted decision, he didn't notice that she was already awake and was secretly peeking at him. She thought he looked too adorable, so she didn't call out to him. Instead, she waited to find the perfect chance to play some tricks on him. When drawing swirls using her finger tips on his butt cheeks didn't get his attention, she retracted her hands and laid on her back with her front body facing the ceiling.

He breathed in relief when her hands had stopped teasing his butt. Because of the change in her body posture, he now had more room to sit on, making his butt a little happier than before. Still, he wished she would eat a full course meal first before continuing her nap.

”Susu..” he whispered gently, bent his knees onto the couch and trapped her between his arms. Feeling his breath getting closer, she opened her eyes and wrapped her arms around his shoulders, making him topple over her.
