Chapter 41 - Vitamins (1/2)

The next morning, Chen Mu made breakfast to replenish her energy, starting with a healthy meal. He went to the market to buy fresh fruits and ingredients for her. When he got back, he started blending the fresh fruits to make her a smoothie and making an extra large portion of stacked waffles for her.

She woke up earlier than usual to give him a surprise, but who knew that he would beat her to making breakfast this early in the morning? Furthermore, his eye bags were pretty obvious as well.

”You didn't sleep last night?”

”A bit.” He smiled and poured her a glass of smoothies.

”Is there anything I could help you with?” She rolled up her sleeves, ready to get her hands working in teh kitchen.

”Yep~ You can sit there and be the taster. Let me know if it's too sweet.” He cut a piece of waffle, blew on it a little, and fed it to her.

”It tastes perfect. Just right.” Seeing her smile made his tensed body relax slightly, but one thing still bothered him a lot and he didn't know how he should ask her. He always respected her decisions and gave her time to tell him things that she wanted to share with him, but this time, he doesn't think that he could treat her the same way.

After eating breakfast, she continued drinking the freshly blended smoothie and he sat down across from her quietly. Finally, she decided to break the cold ice that normally isn't there, ”Ah~ What are you doing today?”

He replied, ”I have to do something at the company today. What about you?”

”I got an email and voicemail from Lawyer Chen to stop by Tian Corps and re-sign the divorce papers. Apparently, my personal statement and marked cross outs weren't allowed, so they needed my signature again.” She explained, releasing a deep sigh because she clearly didn't want to have the slightest thing to do with Tian Yuo.

He rubbed her head gently after seeing her slight frown, ”It's alright. Do you need me to go with you?”

She shook her head, ”Nah, even if you come with me, they'll make you sit outside the room. No point.”

”By the way...” his voice deepened slightly as he slid the bottle of pills across the table.

”Ah!” She reacted exaggeratedly.

”You left this on the kitchen counter. Why were you taking these pain reliever pills?” He sipped his coffee calmly. He looked calm, but mixed emotions stirred like a tornado in his mind once again as he waited for her response.

”These are my vitamin pills. I thought it would be more convenient if I used the pain killer bottles and leave the bottle in my bag since I always forget to take them. Thanks for reminding me though! Almost forgot again.” She tried to act naturally and hoped that he didn't raise suspicions against her words.

”Since it's along the way, I'll drop you off Tian Corps first, okay? This way you can avoid getting squashed like a sandwich on the bus by those teenagers who are twice your size. Heh.” He was teasing her again.
