Chapter 33 - Meet Me (1/2)
Karen hid the report that she had just received from the nurse. Shortly after, the nurse who assisted her earlier came back with her perfectly healthy body report. After thanking the nurse, Karen excused herself to the restroom where she tossed Susu's report into the trash.
With a chilling grin on her face, she exited the bathroom. Inside the restroom, a woman spoke loudly to her manager, sounding irritated, ”I told you that I'm quitting the agency! I want to retire and lead my own life. I am sick and tired of being followed whenever I have dates with my boyfriend!”
She flushed the toilet and stomped out to wash her hands, ”I don't care if I am breaching the damn contract! This miss here, will do whatever she wishes. I am not accepting any more jobs and once I'm done with the last job on hand, I am announcing my retirement! That's that, and I am not going to be easily sweet talked by you to go back to this hell hole again!”
She hung up the call and aggressively ripped out a few paper towels in hand. She wiped her wet hands, tossed the used paper towel towards the trash and missed the shot by a few centimeters. ”Tsk, everything isn't going my way! Ugh!!!”
The moment she stood up to throw the paper towel away, she saw the name, ”Yin Susu?” Quickly, she ignored the dirty towels covering the report and took the stapled report out. Though some parts of the report were slightly wet from being stuffed with other trash, it was still legible.
”Yin..Susu.. body report examination results... Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia??? What the f*ck is this doing here? No, wait, why is it here to begin with? Maybe it could be the wrong person. It can't be Susu's.”
The woman stormed out of the bathroom and rushed to a certain laboratory room with her access card in hand towards her boyfriend's office, ”Lin Que!!! I need you right now!”
Lin Que turned around and pulled off his surgical gloves, ”Oh my honey, Lily, it's still daylight and you're already this bold?”
She didn't have time to flirt with him. Sitting on his lap and facing him, she took out Susu's report and asked, ”Show me the security footage of when this patient ever admitted to the hospital! I need it urgent!!!”
Lin Que took the report from her hands and recognized her name immediately, ”Oh! It's the pretty lady who almost drowned with her stepsister the other day. I know who she is, but how did you get this report? Did you go through the files in the database again for a friend? Hmmmm?”
She crossed her arms and calmed her breathing, ”Hmph! I know there are many treasures in this hospital, but never thought I would find this in the lady's room's trash!”
”Of course, cause the most valuable treasure is in front of you. And that's odd because I personally handed this file to the nurse and told her to give Yin Susu a call because she didn't stay long enough to see her report. That's very odd.... let me check if there is some misunderstanding going on.”
A dangerous glint flashed her eyes as he started dialing the nurse's number on his cell phone, ”Wait.” She stopped his fingers from pressing the dial icon.
”What?””\
”You said Yin Susu and her stepsister was admitted the other day together. What's her stepsister's name?”
