Chapter 1 - Disastrous Morning (2/2)
”K...Karen.. it's not like that!” Susu tried to explain, but she didn't know what went wrong. Even she was confused herself as to why she was in the same bed as Tian Yuo and the things that happened last night.
Tian Yuo gritted his teeth and sharply glared at Susu after looking around the room, ”You bitch! How dare you drug me and made such a ridiculous move? Did you think stooping this low would gain my attention?! Karen, it was her. It was Yin Susu who drugged me. You need to trust me.”
Karen slammed the lamp on a nearby cabinet onto the floor, shattering it.
”Shut up! I don't want to hear anything anymore. I don't want to listen to any of your excuses! You two slept together and that already became a fact. You're no longer mine alone. I can't share a man with another woman, especially when she is my step sister! We're family!” Karen covered her tear stained face and rushed down the hall.
Tian Yuo maintained his position on the bed with his elbow on his thigh and knuckle rubbing his temple on either side of his face. The blanket covered his bottom half of the body, revealing his well toned torso. The sun highlighted his furrowed brows and messy bed head.
”Are you f.u.c.k.i.n.g done with staring at me? Everything went your way already! This went exactly the way you wished! Karen and I got engaged last night, and you had to come ruin us! Why? Just why do you have to be such a nuisance? You know, just because she is your step sister, it doesn't give you any rights to interfere with her happiness!” His tone intensified and pupils dilated as his gaze landed on Susu's trembling figure.
She tried to deny the accusations once again, but was cut off by his hurtful words, ” I won't ever forgive you. You ruined my happiness, and I will return this thousands of folds. If anything happens to Karen, I won't forgive you. Have you not done enough harm to her? How could you be so blinded by jealousy? Huh?!!”
Her dried lips parted, but the words that she wished to spit out never got a chance to escape from her mouth. His large hands held her fragile neck tightly for the first few seconds before loosening its grip. He released his hand after noticing the blood stain on the bed from the corner of his eyes. 'Blood... so something did happen between us last night. To go this far.. Yin Susu..'
”I'm not taking responsibility for whatever happens, so you better grab yourself the morning after pills. If you get pregnant for whatever happened last night, that child will be a bastard.” His cold gaze and blaming words sounded like thousands of needle pricks stabbing her heart.
Tears ran down her rosy cheeks and the sniffles that followed were her true feelings of all the heavy burdens that weighed on her heart. She had done nothing wrong! Yet every single time it was somehow her fault. The last residue of energy gave out and her body slumped to the floor.
Her pitiful, raspy voice echoed the room, ”Whether you believe it or not, it wasn't me. No matter how much I love you, I already know that you don't feel that way for me! I would never give my body to someone who doesn't love me! Karen drugged my drink. It was her who handed me that wine!”
”Watch your foul mouth. Keep your disgusting face out of my sight. I don't want to see you ever again.” He had already gotten dressed and quickly dialed on his phone to look for Karen. He slammed the door shut on his way out, making a few rose petals to fall by the vase.
Her hand subconsciously rubbed her lower waist, ”sss...” she hissed. A faint smile appeared on her pale face, ”Hah.. silly me, why would I ever expect that he would take my side? I need to stop this hopeless dream.” She wiped away the last drip of tears that escaped from her eyes before getting dressed.
When she lifted her arms to wear her crossbody bag, a ring fell out of her pocket. Her eyes were filled with sorrow as another sigh left her mouth, ”It seems like he never took his promise seriously. Everything was just my wishful thoughts, yet my heart aches so much when I see him. I'm hopeless.” She wrapped the ring in the center of her palm and walked out of the room.
