”Do you agree with what I've just said?”
”Of course!”
She hesitated for a second, before nodding anyway. Mu Tang Chun understood how hard this is for her father. But it's all right, even if she date the unknown, masked fiancee of hers, she could still make him suffer. She will then weep in sorrow to cancel their engagement. As she imagined the happy ending scene in her head, Mu Tang Chun almost gave a hearty laugh without a thought about giving face to this ex-fiancee of hers.
(TL: Ohhhhh dear. I think you'll come across ”giving face” in many Chinese novels. It basically means letting the other party look good in public situations, saying or doing things that wouldn't make them look bad and embara.s.sing. Here, Tang Chun is basically saying she doesn't give two cents about what others may think about her ex-fiancee once the engagement is cancelled. ”Giving face” is something polite you do. Not ”giving face” is usually a jerk's move, but I like doing this to people who don't deserve it.)
Nevertheless, her jubilant mood did not last long as a stinging pain came from her wrist again. She winced and let out a soft ”Ah!”.
”Chun Chun, what's wrong?”
Mu Zhen Lin and Xia Tong asked worriedly at the same time.
”I'm... I'm fine! I just accidentally kicked the table, so my foot hurts a little!”
Mu Tang Chun said with a pained expression. *sobs* It hurts a lot! Just why did this d.a.m.ned snake took such a large bite?! I didn't even do anything to him! Why is he doing this to me!
Although her wrist hurts a lot, she put on a strong front and withdrew her tears obediently. *sobs* I'm so pitiful!
Mu Tang Chun didn't know, the truth is... The snake bit her because he overheard her agreeing to her Daddy about the engagement. This woman actually dared to date another man! Without a second thought, Su Fei Yue then bit her once more.
”Look at how careless you are! Be careful next time! Come, let me see your foot!”
Xia Tong loved her daughter the most. She is most afraid if anything untoward happened to her.
”Mummy, don't worry. I'm fine now. It doesn't hurt anymore! I'm... I'm full already! So I'm gonna head back to my room!”
Mu Tang Chun then ran upstairs with lightning speed under everyone's amazed stares.
