TBoSP Chapter 1 - The serpent chooses a bride

TL: New project! This one is really short for each chapter, and I find it a delightful read. Plus, the Chinese is quite easy to understand. It's somewhat similar to those shoujo manga plot where you get a girl sheltering a supernatural being who justtttt happened to be really handsome. I've read till Chapter 9 so far, so like you, I don't know what's going to happen next either!

Throughout the chapters, this prince would talk in royal speech. He even referred to his father as Honourable Father, or used the polite version of ”you”. Now, I would skip them all because it's too much of a ha.s.sle to find the English equivalent of it and make them all flow better. For now, they speak normally in English. If you love anime, then think of it like how kings and queens call themselves as ”wagahai” or ”warawa”.

Demon World.

”Father, you called for me?”

An alluring voice spoke up from within the majestic Demon World's royal palace. A peerless, handsome young man walked in. All beautiful things on heaven and earth would pale in comparison to this man.

His snow white sleeves fluttered in the wind. His gleaming, long silver tresses is unblemished and natural-looking. All that only serve to offset his transcendent bearing. Moreover, his handsome villain-like feature would make anyone stifle in both fear and awe. His gestures and every movement is like second nature to him; elegant and sophisticated. It is so awe-inspiring, that anyone would feel compelled to submit beneath his feet.

”Fei Yue, according to the human age in the Human World, you are now almost 18 years old. You're now almost an adult. I can happily entrust the Demon World's future to you, my son.”

The current Demon World's king looked at his son with pride, his words are but his true feelings from the bottom of his heart.

”Father, you are still young to be abdicating from the throne. I am still inexperienced to take up such heavy responsibilities. We should push this succession matter aside for now!”

Su Fei Yue frowned slightly. He had always liked his freedom. He'd hate to get tied up by the crown!

”Worry not, my son. I have thought this through. This seat of mine is indeed a heavy burden, which is why you will need an able and virtuous queen by your side! Besides, you are now old enough to get married! Why not deal with this matter too? Just like two birds with one stone!”

The king laughed in his heart. To be frank, this is the ultimate goal behind his suggestion to the throne succession.

Truly, this doting father had no choice. His son is excellent in every way. A pity he has never shown any interest towards the fairer s.e.x. As a father himself, he is anxious for his son. Even the queen urged him to do something about their beloved sp.a.w.n. She is anxious to hold a grandchild in her arms! The king then encountered a dilemma. Fei Yue himself has haughty and proud disposition. His magical powers are simply outstanding to the point that even he, his son's father, is somewhat afraid of the consequences of angering him. It's simply impossible to go head-to-head with Fei Yue. Thus, the king is only left with a choice; set him up with a trap.

”A queen? Impossible!”
