”I thought you were asking for more? Judging from what I heard earlier, there was a barrage of attacks. Here I am as a volunteer backup, why don't you stay for a while and entertain me?” The man with a presence greater than a king or a devil spoke to the boyish young man.

'He's already near me? Just in a second?'

Leo's face appeared blanched and urged the teleportation to speed up. The fact that he didn't notice the towering man approach him was another indication of the danger he was currently facing. Though half-hearted, the damn old clone told him of this man's peculiarities! He couldn't be caught by him!

Yet his hope was dashed when an iron-like hand grabbed him by the neck. The lights gathering around him faded in a blink.

”Ack! W-wait! Bro! I'm innocent!!!” The teenage boy felt horror when the hand did not lose grip even after he put all his strength against it.

”Oh? Why are you pleading innocence? What did you do wrong?” The boy could swear he heard malice no less than Fred's unnamed clone's.

From within the barrier Chris stared at the man he only met for no more than the number he could count using the fingers of one hand. As he watched the problematic boy struggle futilely, he didn't know why he had the urge to sigh in relief.

”Chris...” It was the breaking voice of the woman next to him.

He softly said to Alessa. ”It's the genuine demon. I think we're safe now.” The woman heard it clearly yet she only felt a little secure. Her hands kept grabbing onto his shirt.

”Sir George!!!”

Steffy tried to ran towards the bodyguard who turned out to be the only person she recognized between the two. The reason for this was the fact that since she was only Sofony's fake sister, Gio had no intention to be acquainted with her. As a result, Steffy only had an impression on George as a highly capable secretary under her sister. As for why he was following a stranger, she was too incensed to care.

”Ouch!” She collided into something hard, solid, yet unseen. When she fall onto her butt, with teary eyes, her hands went to her nose and forehead.

For a moment, Gio Albarez threw her a casual look. His deep expressive eyes that seemingly held wisdom as vast as the ocean went to Chris, aware that the younger man whose name had become resounding in the whole country was his fiancee's ally. He straightforwardly asked, ”Is there a way for that girl to break out of your barrier?”

Tha half-host shook his head. The non-host supporter nodded as an acknowledgement, not without ensuring the boy being choked by him was almost a yard off the ground.

Those watching them couldn't help but wonder which of the two would win in terms of being a human air-conditioner and surprisingly, it was the actor who won. However, in terms of presence, lethality, and mysteriousness, Gio surpassed the other by leaps and bounds. Such a comparison result was very odd given that Chris was the system user between the two. While the former couldn't even inflict a bruise anywhere Leo's body, the latter had the same boy frightened to the point of running away.

Gio thought for a second. He asked the guy again, ”Hypnosis or Mind Control?”

The one asked felt weirded out by the question. It was quite unbelievable for him that Sofony told her non-host partner even this information that only system users should be aware.

He was referring to the only abilities a host could have on Level 1. The two were also mental abilities good for dealing with situations where a system user had to control a non-host or an inferior to do anything. These were quite sensitive intel but still within the scope of what could be told to a non-host. He just couldn't help but wonder to what extent did Sofony reveal the system's existence to Gio.

Still, seeing the other easily suppressing a high level headache, he replied, ”Mind Control is inherent, Hypnosis learned.”

”Not bad. Make Sofony's sister forget everything about the kidnapping. I'd try to reinforce your hypnosis later once that barrier is down.”

'Is he really just a non-host?' While being commanded by a stranger was not nice, Chris knew it made sense to erase the woman's memories since she was not part of their world.

His eyes darkened. After frowning once, he waved a hand at the girl punching the invisible wall. Unlike Sofony who exercises professionalism when using the skill, words were still golden for him. This fact became more so as he thought of who she really was.

He merely said, ”You didn't see, hear, recognize nor sense anything starting from when your sister brought you home.”

After that, the half-host did not even check how his hypnosis impacted the girl. The system AI in his head of course criticized him for being stupid. It was simply feeling depressed for being ignored.

Alessa watched from the side... not. She was reluctant to see the process. Honestly, she felt so tired that she just wanted to lie down and sleep like a log until the next sundown.

”Just hold on. Once the 25 more minutes is up, we can leave this damn place.”Chris mouthed.

”Sir, what should we do about this middle-aged woman?” It was George who asked. The assistant pushed his eyeglasses up then looked away from the tranced girl.

”I wonder?” Gio revealed a rare smile. ”I feel like dealing with this damn boy first.”

Leo repeatedly tried to warp away and body-swap. When nothing worked, he felt furious and ashamed. Pride for boys his age was greater than the boundless universe.

”Heeeeyyyyy!!!” The full-fledged host angrily kicked at Gio's knee. However, the damn leg did not budge a bit.
