The other individual in the strangely clean room of the abandoned mansion only smiled. Acting like she did not hear his question, she said,

”The last time we had a talk was three years ago. And in such an... embarrassing place. How about we take a seat each and discuss the recent changes in the city, especially yours? It's hard for me to imagine that in just three years you, child, would become a superstar. If Felicity learned of this, she'd surely gasp in shock. I suddenly have the urge to see that expression.”

The answer from the system was what he was truly waiting for.

When he heard where the girl was, his insides seemed to boil so much. He seldom felt angry up to this degree. Were it not for his tempered expression and acting skills, he would have given away his current emotion.

'Is the drug harmful to the body?'

He took a deep breath to calm his heart and mind, but when the discomfort from his chest didn't go away, he frustratedly said, 'Damn, even if want to, I can't discreetly heal her. This woman is in touch with Leo Jones. She must be special in some way. Don't touch the bomb yet!'

Thunder rumbled outside the gloomy mansion which didn't fail to reach their notice despite being inside a soundproofed room. The middle-aged of the Dimatrionez took a seat by the bed. She looked around, and each move of her eyes, there was a tender glow in them.

Chris didn't move from his position, busy estimating his distance from the cupboard to the other side of the bed. It was amidst his thoughts swirling around Leo and this older lady that he heard her speak, in a voice carrying so much sadness and longing. On that while, he almost mistook her for a sane woman.

”Three years and yet it seemed like it's still just yesterday... The pain, and sadness...” The madam gently caressed her hair, her sight glued to the bathroom on the left. Its position was at the leftmost back, away from both the door and bed.

”Chris. I know how much you adored and loved her. So may I ask you a question?”

The man kept his silence. The woman did not mind and continued, ”The past three years must have been very tough and depressing for you, right? You must have felt so betrayed, yet the painful part is that you're not in the position to complain or even say a thing...”

Silence ensued between them, broken only a few minutes after by the madam's silent cries and urgent breathing.

She reached out to the green leather purse in her right hand. The half-host narrowed his eyes when he saw her take out a small, round marble-like object which emitted a soft glow under the bright illumination of the fluorescent lamp.

”Why are you not saying a thing?” Alda Dimatrionez inquired in a discontented voice.

He took his gaze away from the curious object and met her stare. He was quite interested in the device in her palm. But compared to that seemingly low-level object from the system, he was more inclined to worry whether she got that from Leo, or through her own means.

'... 98, are you sure you can't check if she's a system user or not?'

When the damn AI said it couldn't, he grumbled internally out of annoyance. The only good thing he had confirmed so far aside Alessa's location and condition was that only the three of them were the ones in the place. So far...

However, he really disliked how he couldn't confirm whether the other was a system user to watch out for or not. How was he supposed to know what's his stance here?

While he was not afraid to go against a level 4, he would surely choose to flee if she was actually a level 5 hosts. But he had a person to take along with him!

'Leo must have masked her information... I really want to know if she's merely a non-host or not... Why does Leo have to make me stay here?'

Even though he sometimes couldn't get along with Sofony and her clone, they were still allies, hence he was worried about their operations at C Empire.

No matter what that monster kid aimed for donning his identity, it was definitely not a good thing. Or even if it was not, it was still not favorable for their side how another force most likely headed by Leo Jones suddenly emerged just when they were confronting those people from the empire.

Since a while ago, Chris felt like there were tons of things to worry about! And he felt so helpless due to the lack of information! What was this woman's role in Leo Jones plans? Who could tell him? Was he okay to just incapacitate her and send her back to where she should be?

'Yeah, bastard! I don't know a thing and you're not helping me clear those questions! How can I not overwork my mind from thinking of all possibilities?'
