215 Reunion 3 (1/2)
”I'm now strong...”
Gio's answer to this was a light kiss on her forehead.
”I also rebuilt Ever Victorious and made it as good as before, if not better.”
His lips dropped another kiss on her hair. The enigmatic non-host laughingly said, ”Even if that corporation remains as heaps of ashes, I don't care. More than that, what truly matters are things that cannot be restored once completely lost.”
She hummed and nodded. But still said as if she was reporting her progress to him, ”I'm so much better than that Amelia!”
”Who cares about that woman?”
Sofony buried her face in his chest, trembling, ”I, I've been looking for you every single day...”
She inhaled, then continued,
”I've been so lonely... I thought I've lost everything...”
”Where have you been? No... How have you been?”
”I have died every day waiting and searching for you... fearing if you're still alive or not...”
And then as if a dam had broken, the woman grabbed on his shirt tightly and began sobbing her heart out.
The eyelashes of the man holding her tightly to his body shuddered. Dumbfounded, he looked at the small and dainty figure crying in his arms.
He felt despicable for feeling a bit glad that she missed him this much. At the same time, he felt like dying because his woman had suffered and bottled up so many grievances.
”I'm sorry... I'm now here.”
She raised her head as if intentionally making him see the mess her beautiful face had become. It successfully pricked his conscience and made him stole her lips in hopes that this gesture would help ease her heart. And also his own.
Two people regained the most important thing they lost.
And because the time they spent apart had been very excruciating for both of them, the reunion had also been sweeter and tear-jerking than ever.
Remember, each day, there was never a time when they would stare at the void to think of one another. That was just how much their longing had been.
In other words, the experience had been very torturous and heart wrenching that one would just be compelled to wonder how they stayed sane all these years, or at least, saner than expected.
The heavens must have pitied them hence the damnable spell was no longer obstructing them from meeting.
Now, who could blame them for kissing and embracing each other like there was no more tomorrow? Who would dare comment that their reactions were so exaggerated? (FallenBlue would give them a cameo, and leave their characters' fate to these two. Grrr.)
Shortly after their lips parted, the strong girl from a few minutes ago faded away in the background, replaced by a crybaby who felt so wronged by the long years of separation. There were other reasons too, but for now, her tears were for finally seeing Gio, the man she loved as dear as her life.
How glad she was to find him. The feeling was so overwhelming, it drowned her heart with both fulfillment and happiness. Was he feeling this too?
”Let's go inside. I'll let you have a look of this place.”
The crying girl who had slumped down the ground unknowingly shook her head when he held her hand and tried to pull her up towards the wide opened double door entrance.
Sofony wanted to be childish today. Or she simply didn't want their bodies to be separated in fear that he would suddenly vanish like three years ago.
She'd go crazy for real if that were to happen again!
She felt so scared that the warmth and smiles she could see now would turn out to be only another dream of hers.
Gio laughed. He helplessly but dotingly messed with her hair then piggybacked her into the huge house.
”Sofy.” As they made way into his chateau, he called out her name. It never got old from his lips. Heaven knows how many times he had called her name daily.
”Aye.”
”Let's never separate from each other again, okay?”
The familiar and heartwarming scent from him made her feel so at home. His voice made it all appear so real.
