Sofony left the chateau without any expression on her face.
After the real talk between about Gio, she confirmed a few things which almost made her suppose that this Conrad Albarez was an enemy.
'He firmly believed that his nephew is alive. But never made moves to locate him like I do.'
She felt betrayed. Very much. When this realization dawned to her this was what consumed her heart and made her scream her lungs out from the moment she was done locking herself up inside her room.
Her chest felt so constrained. She knew it was the extreme desire to at least slap Conrad Albarez for what he did.
She had yet to learn about Conrad and Fred. But through the conversation they had earlier, she realized that there was only one reason why the man who seemed to treasure his successor so much had not shown worry despite that same successor going missing.
Why did he never show movements to locate Gio?
Why else apart from already being aware of where he was? It was like as a parent, why would he worry about his child being away if he knew that his child was safe in his school?
Right. She was highly suspecting that Conrad Albarez knew Gio's whereabouts. But he never tried to even give her hint regarding where he was. Just why? Testing her?
Aside from having a bad feeling about the person behind this famous kind-looking man, she was suspecting he was actually against her being with him. Was that the reason why this man was not cooperating with her and even made her clown around for three years? She tried hard to simultaneously level up, find Gio, safeguard Ever Victorious, and be worthy of getting a meeting with him so she could inquire about what he knew about the circumstances. But in this high man's eyes, was she actually nothing but an unworthy fool?
Face down as she laid on the soft mattress of the queen-sized bed, she screamed again, her small hands pounding angrily on the sides as if she was pummeling down a very despised enemy.
She hated very much her current situation. For the first time ever since she became an iron-willed lady, she felt so helpless and angry to the point that if Conrad was not only Gio's uncle and someone with a mysterious backing, she wouldn't probably control herself from retaliating terribly against him. Heaven knew how much she restrained herself from hypnotizing that man to death.
Tears ran down her eyes, soaking the bed sheets with her grievances.
It had been three years since she last cried. For three long years, she fashioned herself into a tough, heartless woman to perfectly show to the world how strong and worthy she was of being crowned as Queen of Business World. It was so that once he returns, she wouldn't stand inferior next to him. She was qualified enough to be his consort, his woman.
'... Gio,' she called out his name again in her heart, trying to fill up the emptiness inside using his name and her memories of him.
Muffled by the soft, tear-stained blue water fabric, she softly cried, 'I badly want to see you.'
