26 Another Host 2 (1/2)

Sofony went to school like her other classmates, but also like her other classmates, she slept for the most part of the morning classes. The subject teachers angrily shook their heads at the sight of many classes having sleeping students, but eventually let it slide since they knew the blame was on the upcoming School Fest.

Sofony thought when she woke up. 'Great. It's Friday. And there are no serious classes. The teachers are so understanding probably because today is second to the last day of preparations.' Tomorrow would be the last because the academy would be closed on Sunday.

Just before lunch break, she excused herself from the class to go to the restroom. She was still sleepy back then, and her eyes were only half-opened. It couldn't be helped because she was the probably the most exhausted out of all students in the whole Holy Child Academy.

'He cooked breakfast for me...'

She gave him a glare as she tried to act strong. Floyd didn't notice her trying hard expression since he was more focused on what she said.

Floyd didn't believe her words. And the reason for his wariness was his belief that Sofony was not an irregular existence like him. ”I know who you are.”

”What do you mean?”

Now that he remembered it, he had this Sofony investigated but his hired man had yet to report to him and when Floyd tried to contact him, there was no response.

Floyd watched the change in Sofony's expression. She turned much paler and she looked like the word made her wronged, and then angry.

'She's acting!'

Sofony closed her eyes. When she opened them again, her gaze was very hazy and she looked like she just received a massive blow.

”You're Floyd Cruz, right? The number one playboy of the campus. Who the heck are you to call me something I am not? What gave you the right to call me that when you don't know me? It's my first time meeting you, and you're this rude?”

Floyd narrowed his eyes. ”I know you. Because you caught my attention.”

Sofony laughed as if she just listened to a very funny joke. ”As expected of a playboy. Just because I caught your attention, I am already a whore? You're unbelievable!”

He started advancing towards her and probably due to fright, Sofony stopped laughing and stepped back. She cursed at her luck and hated the fact that there was no nearby person around that she could call out for help.

Floyd gestured in the air, as he established dominance and tried to intimidate the girl before him. 'I have to act tough because this girl might be a human demoness, a famous breed of slut that can manipulate powerful men, the kind which is ten levels higher than Felicity.' His eyes flashed.

Confusion crossed over her face. He resumed talking.

He paused a bit and looked at Sofony whose expression has an obvious 'This scum must be nuts' written on it. He grinned and looked down to see her shoes stepping back again.

”We never truly spoke before. But I know one information that can make you believe that I'm omniscient. You have a secret that you don't want people to know, because once this leak out, you're no longer be the nerdy goddess that everyone knows... and what is that?”

Sofony's heart beat loudly. She didn't like the beastly and crazy look in his eyes.

Floyd leaned onto her to whisper on her ears, ”You are secretly Gio Albarez' bedmate, no, fuckbuddy! So now you know why I'm calling you whore!”

Sofony's face changed into surprise but immediately went back to calmness again, ”You're speaking nonsense. I'm not anybody's whore. If there's one between the two of us, it would be you, our infamous campus manwhore, and I..am not.”

The last two words were spoken with emphasis. In her heart, she murmured, 'Initially I thought so too, but at least Gio said I'm not, he said I'm his girl. I know he's just phrasing it more positively..but I don't care...'

Her gaze directed at the known playboy turned wary after digesting his revelation. 'But how did he know about me and Gio, though... Is it because any upper society member can easily find out...?'

”You can try to deny it as much as you like. But I know you are because you guessed it right, I hired a private detective to investigate you.”

He spoke the truth but didn't say that the information he knew was not from the person he hired but from the system. Not like the system would let him reveal it, and the idea also didn't cross his mind.

His points reserved were all spent just to verify that Sofony Mendez was Gio Albarez' pet and that the latter was probably already targeting him.
