313 7.41 A Camp named SafeHaven (1/2)
”Alright...we had finally settled with our new member here. He is known as Will.I.Am or just Will for short, would that be fine, Will?”
”It's fine with me sirs, ma'am. Will would be fine.”
”Alright, since its night time and now had gone beyond midnight, we won't be doing anything much except for tomorrow morning where we would be setting up a temporary camp so that our things won't get damaged or spoilt in the rain.”
”No worries boss, the things we bought were all nicely wrapped up and won't get waterlogged and this is a nice place to camp out just like the last one. It's away from the river so our camp won't be flooded over.”
”What would our plans be for tomorrow? We won't know if our guests would be here right? I don't see any indications but according to the map, the mines are clustered here in the swamps and we are just 10 mins away from it here.”
”That's right, we would be able to find out more on this tomorrow. If you both look at the grinding spots, they are all located across this lake here. It's 50 meters wide across and there's no bridge whatsoever marked around it.”
”So would we be building a bridge soon? We could name the bridge as a significant place to set up a trading post.”
”Talking about bridges and water, JL...do you have any experience on how to set up these?”
”Ah...like a jetty in front of my house. We need wood and planks to build a nice platform to go across. I could draw up a plan tomorrow and let you take a look at it.”
”If there are passing water vehicles, it would be a high bridge right? How about making a craft instead?”
”That would be a better and feasible idea. It'll cost us less time and resources and takes us across faster too. We could have a rope pegged down at both sides to guide us across...yes...a simple craft is good. A floating bridge we used to call them back at Port Isaac.”
”Could I name this place once the so-called floating bridge is complete? I would like to name it as ”SafeHaven”. A safe place to stay, build a hearth, set up a crossing bridge and build a farm. Grinding and mining come after.”
”SafeHaven it is. Alright...gather up now. This is what we are going to do tomorrow. JL will gather up wood and let me know how many planks and materials you need so we won't chop excess.”
”Will, I need you to set up 10mx10mx25lots for the vegetable and fruits and this patch of land here is 50x50 so we could expand it if we want. Do you know how to set up this piece of land?”
”Yes, sir. I knew how to lay the foundation for the farmland and the layout and irrigation as well.”
”Matilda, assist setting up the kitchen, dining and 2 cooking area like before and tell me how many materials you need to set it up.”
”I would be moving either the 3 locations to help out as much as possible.”

The four of us huddled close to the fireplace as it was night time and doesn't need a shelter for the moment as it was a starry night with some wisps of clouds overhead. It's not going to rain anytime soon.

The chirping of birds just before the break of dawn awoke both Will.I.Am and me as we sat up and rubbed my eyes. Seeing Will.I.Am awakened early morning as I did, I instructed him to place two pots to boil water and prepare the oatmeal and morning tea while I folded the blanket and went to the groceries that were purchased yesterday.
The baskets of groceries were organised systematically and it was easy for me to pick up the things that I need. I retrieved a chopping board from our last encampment and set it down near the baskets. I then opened up a sack of oatmeal and scooped 2 bowls to prepare our breakfast. A pint of cow's milk was placed outside the basket to be taken with the oatmeal later.
The fireplace was smouldering and I adjusted two thick branches over it to make a stand for the 2 pots to sit. The early morning din woke up the other duo and they greeted me and washed up.
