163 5.52 Logistics To Aizuwakamatsu, Yonezawa and Shibata. (1/2)
Shibata 14,750 [Refined Iron]
Yonezawa 3,000 [Refined Iron]
Aizuwakamatsu 3,750 [Refined Iron]
That's a total of 21,500 pieces of [Refined Iron] and I was wondering how come Shibata could be able to absorb so much [Refined Iron] at that time. I asked Hiko-sama and his answers seemed to shine the best light to this question.
”Shibata's northern shoreline was the Sea Of Japan and there are 2 or 3 seaports there. Basically, these blacksmiths are not only making weapons or armours for me and horses, but they would also be doing projects for the ports and ships as well.”
”Shibata may have increased its population and the number of locales since we may call it as the heart of Shibata indirectly dealing with the seaport. If the Blacksmith is not using the plates for themselves then they might be exporting their weapons and armours as well making armour for certain warships or trading ships.”
”I don't think they would be selling those [Refined Iron] plates to other merchants because the plates would not make a tidy profit.”
I simply nodded because what Hiko-sama said all made sense. If I'm a Blacksmith I could turn those [Refined Iron] to make armour and weapons and sells them easily with higher margins.
Now the problem is logistics and transportation. We now have a better route for the ambassadors to take and reach their destinations in a much faster way. Furthermore, it cuts the travelling time and able to deliver, get the gold coins and come back to deliver again. Or, deliver accordingly to Aizuwakamatsu then to Yonezawa and Shibata respectively.
”Based on Aizuwakamatsu, their order was 3,750 pieces of [Refined Iron] and in stock right now is 3,600 with another 3,600 in the Realm of Mind to make up a total of 7,200. Why not settle one town then another? The ambassadors, 2 delivery boys and the 1 shift guards could help out in the logistics and transportation.”
”So at one time, 6 men would move out to deliver these goods while the storekeeper would monitor the movement, pack the other goods and standby for next day deliveries.”
”That's a great idea, kid. Come let's do it!” said Hiko-sama excitedly as I had changed some plans to make the logistics more efficient.
The managers came by after lunch and we discussed the plans for them to move out tomorrow to Aizuwakamatsu and Deliver the whole 3,750 pieces of [Refined Iron]. They would need their mounts from the stable tomorrow and used them to escort the horse-drawn wagons.
Since they have four men assisting them, so the load would be distributed into 2 wagons. Each wagon would be carrying 1,875 pieces of would be about 400 kilograms each. They understood and would report here tomorrow by 6 am.
Before the managers left for their own tasks, they both had desserts that I had made and complimented on the mixture of tastes that explodes in their mouths. They like the chewy glutinous balls and had seconds on that and the green beans. It was the first time they had these desserts before.
The 2 delivery boys were briefed too and once they had loaded the wagons tonight, they would need to pack 3 more crates to make the 150 more pieces. They understood and began to shift the junk to one wagon and once it is cleared, they arranged the first load of 35 crates.
Once done, they went to fetch 2 horses and a wagon from their former boss because he promised to loan us horses and wagon to use for an infinite period. The horses were tied outside at the side of the warehouse where a trough of water had been prepared and a bed of hay has lain on the ground for the horses to rest.
The wagon was empty wagon was pushed into the warehouse and was loaded with the remaining crates.
Seeing the delivery boys had taken their own initiative to acquire and arrange the logistics, this made us driven to make a batch of 3,600 [Refined lron] plates tonight. I instructed the delivery boys to fill up the 3 handcarts with junk and then push them near the Ops Room once they had loaded the crates.
They coordinated with the storekeeper and made sure he had noted the right amount and right now the stock remaining was 0 as everything had been loaded up for delivery.
The delivery boys were told to come at 530 am tomorrow to pack the 150 pieces into 3 crates and they nodded. Since they would be arriving 3 hours earlier they were dismissed earlier off work. The delivery boys were delighted and proceed to head back after having another bowl of dessert.
The storekeepers were dismissed earlier off work and told to report here at 530 am and assist in the delivery. They would be escorted by the Seniors on their mounts.
Now the girls were left in the warehouse now and they were nearing the completion of their jobs. I went there and met them and asked them for another favour.
”Girls, we need your help to store all these Karada soap into these crates by arranging 50 pieces inside and each layer will be lined with hay. Once you had done so for each scent just leave it here for the storekeeper to count and made an entry in the books. After doing so, you may leave the warehouse since Sensei and I would be using them.”
”Yes, Senpai. How about dinner? Would you want us to set it aside for you both later?”
”Sure, thank you so many girls for helping out in this business.”
Later in the evening, a horse-drawn wagon arrived. Hiko-sama recognised them as the boss of the Potter and his apprentices. They greeted each other and explained that they had arranged 20 clay bottles per crate and 100 pieces of soap dish bowls in the crate.
They showed the receipt and Hiko-sama paid up and the apprentices help to arrange the crates on the floor first because these néed to be entered into the books.
A total of 2,000 clay bottles and soap dish bowls were made respectively and our warehouse would be getting more full each day now. Hiko-sama requested for another 3,000 more for each of them and the Potter boss was delighted at having Hiko-sama as their business partner and discussed into giving more discounts.

After they had left, Hiko-sama and I looked at the warehouse and discovered that it had been filled with merchandise while a few days ago it was rather empty. Since we have about 3,600 more pieces of [Refined Iron] in the Realm of Mind, we decided to break up the process from tomorrow onwards in order not to make us too tired.
We would be doing 1,000 pieces after breakfast, after lunch, and after dinner to complete the 3,000 pieces per day. We would be doing it for the next 7 days so that we would have ample stocks for the next round of distribution.
Since we break down the arrangement in this way, at least we won't feel the shackness if we were to do 3,600 of [Refined Iron] at one time.
So in the next week, they would be able to compete for 21,000 pieces of [Refined Iron] and at the same time, we would be able to get our hands on the STM.
We made a mental note to inform Hide and Toshi to pay for the down-payment of the locale and then send all the balance coins to the Treasury to change for a slip of cheque.
A messenger came and we made a note for sake brewery to send 3 jars of sake daily from today and paid the messenger. Some 20 minutes later the sake came and we paid for it from the charity box.
The girls had finally completed the job in the warehouse and it is our turn to perform our next tasks. We closed the warehouse doors and entered our OPS Room. A little while later we entered our Realm of Mind and pushed the 3 handcarts filled with junk and dumped it next to the furnace.
We removed all the [Refined iron] plates and dumped a 1,000 for every handcart and we then sent it back to our real world as we logged off from our meditative state. The carts were once again pushed and placed under the staging area near the storekeepers' table.
We went to shift all the 9 pallets that the girls had completed the jobs of knocking the Karada Soap off the mould and wrapping and labelling them. The girls had stacked the Karada Soap according to scents and had labelled them accordingly too. The girls would be able to make another 9 tomorrow and the guards could help to pack the goods into crates and set aside
”I would inform the guard to make a stand to stack one pallet on top of the other so that the crate won't get damaged. The stand should be made by a 4x4 timber on all 4 corners of a pallet and supported by a 1x2 timber at the supporting sides of the 4 timbers. The stand should not be made too high and it would be easily assessed.”
”Right now with the stands, the Karada Soap would have more spaces on top of one another since there are 29 scents which made up of 29 pallets. If they were stacked on top of one another we could reduce the footprint space for Karada soap.”
