132 5.21 New Found Wealth And Some Ongoing Projects. (1/2)

”So what is your next plan, kid? Are you going to get all those metal parts and forge the [Refined Iron]?”

”Sensei, it would take too much work to forge from broken parts. I would use their pig iron instead as it's faster in that way. The pieces you got for me would be used to produce my projects at home instead.”

”I see, so basically you would head to the Blacksmith to do the forging instead, yes? I agree that the smelting would take some hours but the thing is that in your Realm of Mind, 3 hours would be equivalent to 1 hour in the real world, right?”

”That's right, Sensei. It would be just an hour over here in our real world. Furthermore, I don't want to waste resources. Using their equipment would yield the same results as the Realm of Mind and once I had hit the threshold of the [Refined Iron] I would be able to forge [Purified Iron] next.”

”I have not tried using the steel yet. It needs a higher core of temperature and I don't think the current equipment at the Blacksmith would suffice. Only it would be possible at the Realm of Mind instead.”

I explained as I spread out my hands, to show the seriousness of being in this Blacksmithing business. Furthermore, I would like to take one step at a time and being able to forge steel equipment would cost much higher than iron ones although the repairs would be cheaper.

I explained that the higher the grade of iron that had been forged the more expensive the maintenance of the weapons and armour.

Hiko-sama nodded in apprehension as he too had some steel armour and the repairs would tend to be much higher in terms of maintenance and care.

For those warriors who owned epic items, the cost would be much higher and they have to find the right Blacksmith to actually handle their items or it would be destroyed in the process. It all depends on the skill levels of the Blacksmith after all.

”So what are you going to do with the gold coins? Would you like to open a savings account? There's a local treasury here and there are two kinds of deposit. One is savings, while the other is a time deposit.”

”The interest rate for the savings account is much lower than the time deposit. Time deposit would be like a term of 1 year, 3 years and 5 years. The longer you keep the better the yield would be.”

”Can I open 2 separate accounts, Sensei? I was thinking of depositing 190 gold coins in the time deposit account, while the balance would be in the savings account.”

”Let me give you a treat, Sensei. Let me purchase for you 12 jars if sake for you to enjoy. There is no other perfect gift that would make you happy.”

”Ahh... it been a long time since someone gives me a treat. Fine, 12 jars of sake it is. Furthermore, don't forget ya... October is my whole month's birthday so you would treat me to more sake! Woohoo...!”

Hiko-sama was ecstatic as he realised that I was going to him a treat. On top of that, it would also his favourite one. After settling dinner at the inn, we walked to the sake house and ordered 12 jars of additional sake for Hiko-sama and this time I paid up for it.

The delivery boy promptly delivered it and Hiko-sama informed him to send it right inside the house, rather than leaving it outside on the terrace.

We walked back to the house and found that the delivery boy had just left and had delivered accordingly to Hiko-sama's instructions.

In the middle of the house stood 12 jars of sake majestically lined inside the living room. Fortunately, the house was large enough to store these 12 jars if not there won't be any space to walk around already.

I had gathered the arrowheads which were placed outside in a bucket and placed it into my small bedroom. I intend to make a few hangers and will visualise the mould set for it.

As for the wall mounted hook, I had disbanded the idea totally as it uses quite a lot of metal scraps, so I would find a thin bamboo instead and use it as a supporting pole by the corner of the room. It should work just fine.

Since Hiko-sama was engaged with a jar of sake, I did not invite him to the Realm of Mind as its just a small project. I went into my meditative state and soon arrived at the Realm of Mind.

There stood the whole complete set of Blacksmithing tools and I visualise two mouldings set with ten thin grooves of a depth of 5 millimetres running about an arm's length. In this way, I would be able to smelt and forge 20 thin wires for the hangers.

I placed the smelting pot in the centre of the bed of coals and placed all the arrowheads in the smelting pot and I started to pump the bellows. The bed of coals soon heated the smelting pot and the contents started to sizzle and melt. After some time, all the arrowheads had been melted down and the contents were gurgling inside the smelting pot.

I took a tong and slowly lifted the smelting pot and poured the contents into 2 of the moulding set. All the 20 lines had been carefully filled and I replaced the empty smelting pot on the floor and then I meditated off and return to the real world.

The whole process didn't take more than an hour and when I came back, I still had time to change my gi and hakama into my yakata and slipped on the tatami mat.

Early morning tomorrow I would prepare breakfast and then head to the marketplace to look for a carpenter to make a stand for my Odachi and Kodachi. I think they should have fabricated mass produce stands so I could just buy one off their shelf.

I would then planned to go to the city's registrar and register myself as a resident of Kitakata so that I am able to open up a time deposit account or just a savings account or non at all. Maybe I could just buy my own piggy bank and deposit it at home instead. In that way, I would be able to account for myself how much I had spent and saved.

Since the rate is going for 1 gold coin is to 10 silver coins and I had spent 2 gold coins earlier for the dinner and the 12 jars of sake for Hiko-sama, I still have a balance of 198 gold coins and 32 silvers.

After an hour of lying down on the tatami mat, I returned to the Realm of Mind to take back the 20 strips of metal and then bend them in my bedroom instead. All I need is to visualise a pair of pliers back then and return with it.

The 20 strips of metal were now in front of me with the pair of pliers. All I need to do is to bend them accordingly on both ends and made on end to loop against the other while the other end was made into a ”C” shape.

After a while, I had successfully made 20 hangers of equal size. I took one part of the broken short staff and jammed it at the corner of the two walls. I then took my clothing and used the hangar to hang them instead of leaving them folded on the floor.

It was a perfect fit and I hope that this would be a growing trend. One hanger could be used to hang one hakama and one gi or kimono. I used about 6 hangers and intended to hang all of Hiko-sama clothes tomorrow.
