We met at the hostel lobby and proceeded for a short walk to the nearest open air market around the district. The Night was still young and there were a lot of vendors trying to poach us with their food wares that looked tempting enough. Since we had a fairly heavy lunch earlier, a simple dish would be enough to start the conversation rolling.
We sat at one of the wooden round tables and order steam cockles with spicy sambal drippings and 3 bottles of Leo light. Even with the Monk around, having a light refreshment would not tarnish his image as some countries might deem the behaviour as intolerable within the society.
”Chosen One, I heard that you had used your Psi energy spheres to ward off incoming evil spirits during your second shot at the Ashram. And a Kamehameha sphere directly into an evil entity when it tried harming your colleagues, was that right?”
”Benevolent Monk, that all was true. I did that to protect the others as well as to terminate one that had caused harm by preparing the unearthly foods for us to eat.”
”That's good. You had used those two in accordance with the strict guidance of not harming others as well as other living things. You will learn something new later, which I intend to guide you. This time, instead of an energy ball, you would splay out a kind of web that acts like an offence and defence mechanism from your fingers or palm.”
”Alright, I'd wait for the time then,” curiously thinking of shooting a Web. I'm going to be Spiderman next? This is getting far complicated and more fun actually. I arched a smile upwards with my lips as I think that I could be Spiderman soon!
Soon the cockles came, the shells were still steaming and it was whitish in colour. Some of the cockles had opened up slightly and its easier to pick the meat inside using a toothpick. The meat was partially cooked and it is still a bit bloody inside. Once the meat had been carefully picked and dipped with the spicy sambal, it was quite a savoury dish.
The portion was meant for only one person actually and there were 5 of us. After a few pickings, only the whitish shells were left and I gestured towards the direction of the cook to send in 1 more portion.
This dish was famous throughout the seafood industries, the smaller ones were succulent while the larger half-fist sized were chewy and meatier.
”Benevolent One, how would the police react to these findings, based on your experience and seniority?”
The Monk took a swig at his half-empty glass of beer and replied that its an open and shut case. They had pieces of evidence and wished not to make them public, but may make exceptions in the case of the SPI team.
The rest nodded when they heard this piece of news, which means the SPI team would be able to let Pornsak narrate the continuing episodes that shroud the mysteries around the ladies in white tomorrow.
Soon, they finished the simple supper and beer, paid up and went straight to the hostel for some shut-eye before waiting for the arrival of the rest of the guys tomorrow. As for Pornsak, Benevolent Monk and me, we still had a long time ahead of us as he decided to show how to improve the channelling of our chakra points during a battle.
We soon arrived at the hostel, the two members of SPI went to their respective rooms while the Benevolent Monk followed into ours.
”Chosen One, have you ever seen any movies or person in action doing hand seals during their meditation?”
”I am not sure of it, but I've only seen one during a normal lotus meditation posture where you pinched your middle fingers with your thumbs on each hand and rest it on the side of the knees there.”
I answered as I entered and the Benevolent Monk closed the door after him. He sat on the chair while Pornsak and I sat on the edge of the bed.
”Hmm, these hand seals represent the Chinese Zodiac and there were 12 hand seals altogether. Each hand seal depicts each meaning and usefulness. It may be too much for you to absorb but let me show you an example.”
He gestured us to look at his hands carefully as he clasped them together, then entwining them, forming a kind of formation only Naruto would only know what those means. For each hand seal that he performed, a Japanese sounding syllabus was made through his lips. There were: Ne, Ushi, Tora, U, Tatsu, Mi, Uma, Hitsuji, Saru, Tori, Inu and I, which translates as Rat, Ox, Tiger, Hare, Dragon, Snake, Horse, Ram, Monkey, Rooster, Dog and Boar.
”Wow, that looks pretty deep and do I need to perform all of them all at once in accordance to order?”
