16 1.16: The Keris that Cannot KILL! (2/2)
After some time I regained my composure and after the adrenaline rush, I slowly returned back to my meditative of mind.
I squinted my eyes as I slowly opened them, half expecting to see wild opponents jumping towards me to avenge its fallen comrades.
My back was covered in sweat and beads of perspiration dripped from my forehead. I slowly opened up my eyes and wiped the perspiration that had covered my face with the back of my hand.
”Fuyoooh...! It was intense! I felt as though I was in a real battle!” I slowly stood up after the vortex in the center of my forehead subsided and gingerly made my way to the old man.
” Master I had visions of hand to hand I armed and armed combat with two opponents. I did not manage to kill both of them but I did, however, to be able to land a few kicks and punches to both and I think I severely injured them at close proximity.” I said excitedly like a kid who had gotten what he had wished for Christmas!
”Keris is good. Full of power. It can kill spirits and evil. No harm towards living thing.” explained the old man and I was suddenly gripped with a frown look.” What's the use of this weapon if it cannot kill someone or something?!? ”I thought to myself and I immediately unsheathed the keris and thrust into the Thigh of a person closest to me.
STAB....!!!
” OOII...OOII... OIIIII... WHAT THE F*CK ARE DOING!!?? YOU DUMB F*CK!!!” screamed Ding who was, unfortunately, sitting closest to me. The Keris that was held like a dagger thrust with full force and penetrated deep till it reaches the hilt into Ding's unprotected thigh. He looked at me pale-faced with eyes as big as a saucer and gripped the front of my shirt in wild surprise with both shivering hands. I slowly withdrew the keris out from Ding's thigh. ”ARE YOU OUT OF YOUR FREAKING MIND...!!??” he exasperated shouted as the blade of the keris slowly was extracted from his thigh and was seething his teeth with eyes that looked like terror and surprise!
After the keris was totally extracted from his thigh; Ding looked at the state of his entry wound that was penetrated by the keris earlier half expecting large open wound that needs almost immediate attention from paramedics that had stood by behind the set. Eh... This is wrong....he looked at the keris' penetration earlier and was half expecting a large wound that needs almost medication from the old man in forms of traditional medicinal herbs and such.
” EH.....! No blood and no wound! Nothing happened lah!!” he exclaimed while showing his thigh to the rest of the brothers. Except for a small tear on his pants indicating the entry made by the keris earlier, his skin and thigh were perfectly unscathed. There was not a drop of blood nor was it a scratch at all!
”YOU CRAZY F*CK! YOU SCARE ME YOU LITTLE SH*T! DON'T YOU COME NEAR ME WITH THAT THING...!!” he screamed at the keris I was holding and quickly scooted back and hid behind Cheng.
”Whoa... This is the keris mentioned by the old man that said this keris will not harm another living thing. A keris that would not kill!!” remarked Cheng with a wild astonishment in his eyes while patting and consoling Ding not to be like a crybaby. He then gave a thumbs up to me and nodded his head in approval to the little unexpected experiment that I had performed on his second brother.
”Aiyah... Don't cry la. Be a good boy ok? Look, I never hurt you right?” I said while spreading my hands. I knew that if I asked his permission, I would be refused flatly and no one would be my sacrificial lamb for this experiment. Also, I just made a wild guess that since the keris was mentioned not able to harm humans, so the next following step is to try it on an unsuspected someone. And that someone happened to be poor Ding.
”Still... Don't you dare come near me and try it on me again!” cried Ding as he hugged Cheng from behind and hid his sorrowful and tear stained face away. ”I am not a Guinea pig you know nor I am a pig at all. Next time poke yourself la...” he sobbed while Eun can't help but stroking his head just like he was doing it to the merchant's horse the other day.
Guess the little experiment had left Ding with a slight psychological defect. I am sure a trip with a certified psychologist afterward would help ease him up. Hmmm... Eh, wrong again.
So it is the beginning of the end of the introduction of the Keris that would not kill and the end of the beginning for this multi-part series. Tee hee hee.....
So back to the main core of the story.
