14 1.14: Losing Self and The Third Eye (1/2)

”Eh....I....answers me no seek much,” I replied in roughly the same manner as the old man was asking. ”Speak do not me follow...Guardian Spirit you saw; answers you seek. Also keris you bring; power many many.” he said and I almost choked and nearly laugh out this time. I looked at the brothers and they too were covering their mouths tightly while holding their laughter back till their faces were as red as tomatoes.

”You sit go there. Meditate. Mind you set free. No thinking naughty naughty eh... Empty mind. Wait something happens and feel light in the body. Then check you I will. Got one answer your mind in question.” said the Master as he pointed with his crooked walking stick towards a round mat on the floor that was woven from the dried husk filament of the coconut. From the looks of it, I sure am going to scratch my butt like a monkey! Does it gets any worse than this??!?

”Hmmmpphhh.....Hmmpphhh.... Hmmpphhh” stifled waves of laughter from the brothers can be heard and I can see tears streaming down their faces as they tried hard not to be transformed into laughing hyenas.

I crept at the rough looking mat, planted myself while squinting hard at the prickly surface; sat cross-legged and closed my eye. Placing both hands at my knees I cleared my mind and take control of my breathing. After a while, I felt kind of dizziness slowly creeping into me. The noise of the surroundings suddenly turned muffled and there seemed to be a vortex in the middle of my darkened ”vision” and this soon turned into alternate bright flashes of blinding light and darkness. I was half expecting the Master was flashing a torchlight at my face and then covering it up with a blanket afterward repeatedly.

The Master just advised emptying my mind...Haiish...

”SMACK!!” a painful slap landed on my forehead and I can't help myself from reeling backward from my sitting position. My eyes start tearing up and I blinked painfully at the same time while using both hands to cover the top of my eyes as they adjusted to the glaring light. ”Sorry. Big mosquito come bite. Here is dengue zone. No good.” muttered the Master after I realized that he had swatted my forehead and squashed the mosquito.

A small blob of blood appeared on the squashed mosquito's abdomen and I rubbed at the itchiness that came after. Soon a small welt appeared right in the center of my forehead. ”Good, now third eye open. Die soon faster, see ghosts day and night. Die, die, die!!!,” exclaimed the Master incorrigibly while the three brothers suddenly cracked up and were rolling on the floor; unable to hold in their laughter anymore; laughing so hard that they were all holding on to their tummies, tapping out and stomping their feet at the same time.

I am not too sure whether my Third Eye was opened and whether I would be dying soon as I looked at their direction and cannot help by chuckling at their antics. I can't help letting out a sigh whether this old man who called himself a Master was proven or self-proclaimed one.

”Now stand. Try push me. Strong one!” commanded the old man. I slowly stood up and looked rather stupified as I pushed one hand to push his shoulder. ”You woman? Strength you use! Push like me!” he demonstrated by being in a kind of stance, dropped his walking stick on the floor and used his two outstretched palms on my chest and pushed with a slight of his body.

BOOM!!!! I was literally blown backward the moment I felt a slight pressure from his palms. I was totally shocked and was flailing my arms about like performing a reverse butterfly stroke; grabbing nothing for support until I fell off the edge of the gazebo.
