49 Operation Save Pesti: Day 1 - Figh (1/2)

I glared at the baldie; his hair being a shorn carpet of brown lining his scalp. The gla.s.s-silver studs on his ear lobes were dull underneath the morose light. He was still wearing the black full length body suit, which couldn't hide signs of silver marble scaring of his skin between the cuffs of his sleeves and black gloves. Nor that evident X-scar visible from the underside of his neck.

Aidoneus answered with his longsword raised to meet my gunfire. He flashed me a lopsided smirk as he moved the flat side of his blade to ricochet my bullets back at me with speed and ease.

I narrowly missed my own attacks. My heart pumped with anger and adrenaline.

”Missed me Famine. Probably didn't expect to see me again.” He cackled and raced for me with his longsword aimed for my heart.

I dropped and rolled, narrowly missing his attack. I rolled again when I felt the wind of his swings going down towards my neck. I scrambled to my feet and c.o.c.ked my guns.

”Sweetie. Like, I know he's bad a.s.s and all, cool your heart. Like, your brain is far more s.e.xy right now.” Marilyn's voice coolly spoke her reason in my head.

”Right.” I answered aloud, aiming my guns to the freak-face's head and firing rapid rounds, which he coolly evaded with easy.

”Hahaha! Is that all you got, Pretty Boy.” Aidoneus laughed. ”Come to Papa. Let Daddy spank you.”

”Marilyn, you have spell right?” I screwed up my nose at the freak's sick joke, awkwardly evading the man's swift sword slashes.

I fired random rounds at his chest that he swerved around. My aims weren't doing anything. The freak was dodging my attacks without effort.

”Like, way better, I can increase your agility at the temporary cost of, like, your aim.”

”Marilyn! I need everything I've got! Give me something else!” I yelped as I dodged a close sword swipe over my chest.

I frowned at the man's laughter, he was barely breaking a sweat.

”Fine.” Marilyn pouted.

Bluish white light wrapped my limbs, I felt increased muscle strength and fighting instinct. A dull ache pained my heart from the racing heart beats fuelled by overexerted adrenaline.

”I've, like, increased your fight, but, like, you'll burn out faster.”

”Whatever!” I yelled as I rushed for the freak with my guns blazing.

He dodged my attacks with his sword. I ducked and slid towards his legs, kicking at his s.h.i.+ns to knock him down. I quickly thought of my hands cased in silver gauntlets.

My guns switched form to become the gauntlets I had imagined.

”Ugh!” Aidoneus cursed when I punched at his wrists to knock his sword out.

The man met my fist attacks with his own. Pain welled about my wrists and biceps as I countered his punches with high and low swings.

”Famine. You've gained a skill. Lemme guess, Spellbook?” Aidoneus coolly asked.

I responded with a high kick that successfully knocked the man backwards.
