29 Memory And Never Was (1/2)

I woke up feeling furry in the mouth and my head throbbing. A frown furrowed my brows as I recalled the weird and creepiest dream to plague my sleep. I blamed the booze that I had inadvertently downed the night before.

”Wakey, wakey Princess!”

I groaned and clumsily batted at Jensen's bouncing on the bed to jerk my body about.

”I'm awake!” I complained that stirred a chuckle from the pesky knight.

”What are you doing here?” I groaned as I gave my shoulders and arms a morning scratch.

”Nice bed hair.” Jensen's chuckle became mild laughter at the sight of my black tufts flopping about my eyes.

I was keenly aware I needed a cut.

”Seriously, what's up?” I sighed, not impressed.

”You're wanted on deck.”

I looked next to me and noticed Death's side of the bed was empty.

”He's already up, bright and perky. I guess he's the morning person.” Jensen answered.

I frowned, perplexed. It wasn't morning?

”What time is it?”

”Time for you to get up!” Jensen yanked off my bed covers.

He called out Dionysus to get me up and ready army style. That canary task master squawked and screeched me into motion; making my wash, dry, dress and style routine a fast forward action.

”Ten minutes. Not bad.” Jensen looked impressed as he checked time on his pocket watch.

I heaved a sigh as I adjusted my flat cap to my head and donned my navy patchwork overcoat.

”Happy trails Master.” Dionysus warmly saw me at the door.

I acknowledged his greeting with a nod then followed Jensen's lead down the hallway, through the bar area, sitting area and way out of the mansion towards a dreaded elevator.

”Stasis Theatre or Labyrinth?” I groaned.

Jensen chuckled. ”Neither.”

I shrugged off my questions and followed him down a straight moonstone path that led to a bird cage type of gazebo. I frowned, noticing its surface glimmered underneath the glaring daylight.

”Gla.s.s?” I asked.

”Yep. Well, you'll see.” Jensen answered.
