Something came up and also I got lazy and I read some new released novels.

Demon…….meaning Reiss?

That guy was just given that name 『Demon Knight』, but looking at Roa-kun’s expressions, it not like the same feeling when I blurted out inside my mind 「You’re really awful. You’re really a demon huh!」.

When I answered him honestly 「Somehow, I know that it’s something like an awful existence 」, Roa-kun then nodded firmly.

「There is something that exist here in our country. And for those people born and grew up in the Naft Kingdom, they receive divine protection from the Spirit Queen, which is not much known by the people. Basically, demons can’t exit in places under the protection of the queen. Even for the people in the church, demons are unclear existence. However, if spirits exists, then there were also existence called demons」

「If I’m right…. what you’re saying isn’t that weird」

「Demons lead people astray, they’re the opposite of the spirits that seeks the purity of people’s heart. They form a contract with people on  whim, they lend them power beyond human comprehension and takes something important from you as a payment. ……And then after having a contract with a demon, the person who’s body would be possessed by the demon, it’s called 『Demonic Possession』」

「Demonic Possession……」

I muttered repeatedly the words that my ears wasn’t able to hear before.

Carefully thinking about the matter called demons, the 『payment』 for making the depends on the contract agreed upon, portion of lifespan, parts of the body like an arm or a leg……..or, it only makes me feel disgust listening to those absurdity.

Again, the truth is, the high priests of the church with considerable amount of Spiritual Mana maybe sent out of the country for missions on exorcising demons, so it seems. It requires a large amount of Spiritual Mana to go against demons.

That’s a matter I really don’t have any idea of.

「This topic is not known to the public. But there is  reason why I’m telling Suria-sama about the matter regarding demons. To the series on disappearance of Spirit Users…….that is, you might get involved with the demons.」

「Eh?」

I didn’t thought that the direction of the story would s.h.i.+ft to me. Roa-kun announced that the culprit on the disappearances is a person that’s possessed by a demon. But the way Roa-kun describes it somewhat strange.

「These cases in the capital occurred since last month right? Since this country is under the protection of the Spirit Queen, the power of the demons shouldn’t be able to enter here right?」

「Basically that would be it. There are two things that come up to the mind on why demons would want to enter here」

While fidgeting his fingers around, Roa-kun speaks.

「First, one must be a acquainted and become a 『Demon User』」

「Another new word comes out……what do you mean by Demon User?」

「Anyone who lets their body freely possess demons, is a person more of a demon than an actual demon. There are a lot of things that matter but, those people lose their own selves by letting demons possess them. Just by making yourself have a contract with a demon sometimes turn into a situation where the contract with is half-done, it’ll be a tough situation to fully finish the contract. And those Demon Users turned out to be people who were under 『Demonic Possession』, they somehow beautify the demons. So it was was hard looking for signs of demons since the people who could be possible contractors are all the same」

Now I get it…….. and that’s how they were able to get pa.s.s the Spirit Queen’s eyes.

As the absorption of the contract nears completion, the more it is difficult for the human to be possessed by a demon. Just that it’s basically that demons also makes contract, and if you’re careless, it’ll try to take over the mind and the body of the contractor. But as the absorption goes on, the more it is dangerous.

The indifferent expression on Roa-kun’s face turned bitter.

「If there is Spiritual Mana as high as Oji-sama*, with just a glance, he might’ve find an ongoing absorption of Demonic Possession but……right now, it’s still impossible for me. Even if it was just nearby, it’s possible I won’t be able to notice it」 (TL: Grandfather)

「Oji-sama……?」

「A, Ahh! Please excuse me! I haven’t even told Suria-sama about it yet, it’s just……..!」
