Chapter 37 - Descending of the Cicada

At the city gates, two short men blended into the crowd, waiting for the guards to investigate.

”Let's go!” The guard took the portrait of Wei Qing and Die'er and pushed them away impatiently without even comparing them, ”Don't get in the way!”

After the two men left the city gate, one of them stretched his body and raised his head to look at the blue sky and white clouds, breathing in the fresh air without restraint.

”Eldest young miss, we just ran out like this and haven't returned to the Prime Minister's Estate. Would the old master be worried?”

The two men who had just left the city were Wei Qing and Die'er.

Originally, after leaving the Prince Chu’s Mansion last night, Wei Qing wanted to return to the Prime Minister's Estate. However, after thinking about it, if she was Xiao Qingqian, she would definitely run over to the Prime Minister's Hall to denounce her.

If Prime Minister Wei was the one who hid her, even if she was a scheming person, Xiao Qingqian was not an idiot. He would still be able to find some clues.

Thus, it wouldn't be appropriate for him to return.

And if she were to follow Die'er back to the Prime Minister's Estate now, it would definitely not be appropriate. Because Xiao Qingqian would definitely be watched by the hidden guards. Once they showed their faces, they would definitely still be caught and brought back.

After considering it over and over again, Wei Qing decided to follow Die'er out of the city, and hide outside for a while.

”Let's find a place to stay for the time being!”

He had left the Prince Chu’s Mansion in a hurry last night, and the small amount of silver was given to him by the man last night.

”I'll leave it to your clever young miss!” Wei Qing pinched Die'er's lips that were as thick as a bottle, and said, ”Don't be like that!”

”But this servant saw that the right path was relatively flat.”

Die'er suddenly understood, ”This servant is so stupid!”

Wei Qing laughed, and in her mouth, she hummed a small tune.

The two continued to walk forward for another ten meters before a small river appeared in front of them.

Die'er's face was filled with disbelief, ”Eldest Miss, how did you know there was a river here?”

Wei Qing raised her eyebrows and tail, ”Your young miss can calculate!”

With that, Wei Qing told Die'er to sit down and she would go find a tree branch.
